Anyone heard it?
my favourite song on the album is Strawberry Cables.
My grandmas favourite track is Bumblebee
It's an interesting thing, I think all acoustic and with a good amount of something that sounds like baritone sax - it's on Moshi Moshi but has the feel of one of those innumerable CDRs they put out themselves.
I don't know if i'd buy it though, i've only read one review and it got 3/10. I wouldn't mind hearing it though.
As someone above said, much more like one of their CD-Rs. It's pretty much entirely acoustic, and the title track is one of the best soul songs (if you can call it that) I've heard in years. Sounds absolutely astounding on vinyl, too.
It's a good to great album, not a classic like Instant Coffee Baby, but pretty good all the same. Probable 7.5/10 (would round up) for me.
People should stop moaning about it not being available through digital channels, this is a release by a pretty tiny indie band, on a tiny (normally singles only) indie label, go to a record store and buy it. You'll be enabling a fantastic small band to make a career out of music, and they probably make a better margin on physical sales.
Bumblebee is gorgeous . It's not as immediate as their first album, but it's been growing on me ever so gently.
Actually prefer it to the last one. The reason nobody knows about it is that, on top of it having had little to no press, I don't think it went on I Tunes or E Music, (or at least I couldn't find it). I guess Moshi Moshi must make more money doing it independently but its annoying when you have credit on two big download sites and its not on either of them.
