Tell me about them.
Are they really the best, most influential band I've never heard?
I guess he has a solo album out with the drummer from Clutch on it. And the bassist in the Wino band recently died after coming home from tour. Fuck!
Anyway the other things i've heard from him are St Vitus & Spirit Caravan who did at least one album for Joe Lally's record label called 'Jug Fulla Sun' which is sometimes awesome and sometimes just good. Then he was also the main guy in The Obsessed & The Hidden Hand. Fairly productive like.
Aaaaaaand he's also in Shrinebuilder, rock's most weatherbeaten supergroup:
Very much looking forward to that. Though it might fall flat on its face like many other supergroups. I hope it doesn't.
I'm too lazy to find a myspace or anything like that.
The name tells me either harsh sleazy punk/metal in a Jesus Lizardy vein, or growling otherworldly doom.
that Aaron Turner and Justin Broadrick one is released next week. Could be good. Apparently Jesu was wicked good at ATP, but I figured I didn't wanna see another band with a name like Jesus. Annoying, cause I got Lifeline and it's much better than the other stuff I had.
I still don't really like Isis but Jesu is good afaik. Then there was that one with Aaron Turner and Stephen O'Malley too called the Lotus Eaters, have you ever heard that? I meant to try and listen to some of that ages ago. Most stuff justs drifts by me never to be seen again! Never mind eh
It drifted by me as well. Tempted to try out the new Sunn O))) cause they might've gone and done an Earth. But the thing is. they'll never be as good as Earth.
Do you know Dungen? I just got one of their albums on a whim. It's pretty weird. And pretty amazing.
like from the 70s onwards kind of doom. With mint riffs and guitar. And his singing is vaguely reminiscent of Ozzy sort of. Here's one of them there Spirit Caravan tracks from that album
