it sounds better than american idiot, although i'm trying to work out if that's just because AI was so onmipresent
Apart from the single, I mean. Have they released anything else from it yet?
Not intentional - I'm genuinely curious about what else you've heard. Link? I happen to think American Idiot is the best thing they've ever done.
but it's better than the singles from american idiot
reminds me of the mid90s but stadiumed up a bit
The single, that is. I've only heard a minute-long snippet of verse/chorus.
has leaked online if you know where to look...
read this review from a voice you can trust.
that that talentless gimp from the Killers said 'American Idiot' was a cynical cash-in. Perhaps he was scared of competition, the fuckwit.
his band would replace nirvana and led zeppelin in the american rock consciousness
he's already got form as an utter knob.
he did once give me guestlist for their show in york a few years ago
everything about it is wrong
If he wrote that following a single listen, then those opinions were formed before he even heard it.
Im halfway through it, and so far slightly dissapointed. Could be a grower perhaps?
any other words than 'the enemy' in the single?
and wow is it loooong 18 songs is way to much, i found my mind wandering towards the end. Most of the songs follow the same old loud quiet dynamic... and tend to merge into one another (that may have been intentional though?) i'll give it a few more listens before i totaly write it off. One thing i will say though is "Know Your Enemy" is the weakest lead off single they have ever released.
weak sauce indeed. I think AI is probably their best all round album though nothing captures a moment in their lives and a lot of listeners lives like Dookie. Dookie takes you to a time and a place. AI is merely a good collection of songs...
did Greenday go from likable 90s conscious slacker rock to generic politically charged opera rock taking lyrical cues from a confused 8th grader's journal?
they're like an even more annoying My Chemical Romance
The reviewer is impressive in the fact that he writes plenty without actually saying anything. I hope this isn't a consistency in a career.
