yeap, still one of the best albums of the decade, easily, truely fantastic LOVE LOVE LOVE
OH NO!! SHE'S A REJECTOR!!
Also, Past is a Grotesque Animal, easily one of the tracks of the decade.
they slay live full stop actually.
Their last manchester gig was beyond amazing.
She's A Rejector is monumental live. I think I damn near lost my mind when it started up when I saw them. Their most recent Portland show was out of this world.
I do love them though
pity about skeletal lamping
I didn't really compare it to Hissing Fauna, it is probably in my top 3 albums EVER, so i would have only been disappointed.
feel the contraversy rage!
just had SOOO much to live up to, it was always going to be a dissapointment
skeletal lamping is better, catchier, more assured, but the songs don't mean as much so hissing fauna is better
if not for Labyrinthian Pomp and Fabergey-whatever-it's-called.
Still, arguably the most ridiculously good first 7 songs I've heard on an album. The Past Is A Grotesque Animal <3
After Bunny... I always skip straight to She's A Rejector. Maybe I should give Labyrinthian Pomp and Fabergey-whatever-it's-called another chance.
the other one (no one knows what it's called, lol) is probably one of the weaker songs on the album.
admitidly I was all wtf!? when I heard them, but once they sunk in amazing
There's absolutely loads on spiffify now. Groovy.
However, I think it's improved by putting the Icons, Abstract Thee EP in between The Past is a Grotesque Animal and Bunny Ain't No Kind Of Rider, makes it all make a bit more 'sense' if you get me.
it really is wonderful. Not a bad song on the album and 5 or 6 that absolutely slay.
(I've never used slay before, I like it)
my fave track, bar TPIAGA, I think its sheer numbness makes it the album's bleakest moment
i love it since day one and i thought it was going to be a smash hit among fans. To me it was the logical next step after Hissing Fauna.
I concur, it's amazing.
it chops and changes too much. Reminds me of when I had an adverse reaction to nytol and couldn't sleep or concentrate on any one thing for more than a second.
Admittedly, I've only gone back as far as Satanic Panic, but so far the pattern seems to be: about three/four outstanding songs, a few more very good songs, and then one or two so awful that even I - and I consider myself a big fan - would say were unlistenable.
I do love Hissing Fauna, but after The Past is a Grotesque Animal its all letdown
Hissing Fauna is one of my favourite albums ever. I spent two whole weeks listening to only it. I think I know every single line and note. Sad, I know.
Cherry Peel is also really good. More indie-poppy though.
Had in on tonight at Oceanstorm's and I think it's great all the way through. I like Skeletal lamping, but not quite as much.
When I saw them live they were decent, but not brilliant.
