The Killers are #2- I think we need to help redress the balance.

seemed like far too much effort. I was giving pretty much everything a really low rating, apart from My Bloody Valentine as well. How long does it go on for?
I gave up when I realised Slint had the same score as the enemy.
Some of the low ratings on there made me furious, Mogwai and Trail Of dead only a 3 is criminal.
This is worse though: http://www.nme.com/rate/greatestdrummer/32
Ronnie Vannucci? Really?
There is no way in the world that the majority of NME readers have heard all these albums, I haven't. I'm 27 and have spent the last 15 years of my life trying to sconsume as much as possible and I haven't given all these albums a proper listen so I just can't believe that the people giving the replacemenst a 3 out of 10 score have actually heard it.

Average Rating: 4.30
Which for most NME readerse will be nearly of them.
It's great and all, but they seem to have f all to do with whats big at th eminute, or am I just off the zeitgeist
surely if you haven't heard it, you should award it a 5?!
Chutes Too Narrow - 4.20
Crooked Rain - 4.63
Blue Album - 4.75
Radiohead indie? x
and you worry about Radiohead?!
read stuf fwe cover in the NME
the vast majority of the NME's current demographic have no idea of or have never heard most of the albums in that list. Or were even born half a lifetime after some of them were released.
I've selected a lot of 10 ratings (Loveless, Daydream Nation, Meat is Murder, Vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionplot, Young Team, OK Computer, Ladies & Gentlemen we are floating in Space - to name a few) but to be honest the only album there that truly belongs at the top and deserves the place is R.E.M.'s Murmur. Getting on 30 years old and still more exciting than 90% of the indie drivel pumped out today.
"Murmur sounds like it has been beamed down from another planet" (My pal)
this is pretty flawed in that there's no "haven't heard this album" option meaning you've got to rate everything. this is surely going to bring down the scores of the less well known albums as most people will vote low for something they haven't heard...
Except I know quite a lot of people who have an opnion on every band ever, including the ones I'bve made up to amuse myself.
I guess what I'm saying i sthat a lot of these votes will have been done on preconceptions.
What do you expect?
And 'Daydream Nation' is NOT better than 'Unknown Pleasures'. It's a seminal album, but it's not the most seminal of seminals.
F**k of Pitchfork and (now) f**k off NME.
people on this site are such dorks, arghhhhhhh how dare they rate my sepcail Aalbum badly!?!?!?!?!? I AM SO OFFENDED AND ANGRY, COMPLETELY INDIGNANT, CHRIST I NEED TO HAVE A SMOKE NOW
*takes autism medication*
As sad as it sounds, I'm kind of dissapointed to see it at the top of an NME list. Surely that's a place reserved for the shittest of shittest, not the best album of all time...
but pleased that sonic youth are somehow at number one...
The top 20 so far is a lot better than I was expecting considering nme's demographic thesedays
i hate the NME
NME has to be the worst printed music press in the country
and number 20 is Bis with a rating of 6.00, I don't think many people are doing this. Which means Dinosaur Jr. and Slint having ratings between 4.00 and 3.00 is quite good, actually.*
*I'm not good at maths at all, so don't hold the possible inaccuracy of this.
it's not actually progressing past Isn't Anything for me
Was on about a 4.
Weird order, too. Wish it was alphabetical so I could at least guess where various albums are in the url.
Made me day ^_^
seriously wtf? I NEVER substitute my for me
what a depressing exercise that was.
And wasn't Hot Fuss on Island?
but still, Kid A 5.91?
i need a drink.
MURMUR AND YOU'RE LIVING ALL OVER ME ARE CONTENDERS, AND NOT IN THE TOP 20?
but the top 20 are not as bad as I had expected

really glad to see sonic youth, the cure and the smiths so high.
...for me, it's what an indie album should be. The trouble with this sort of polls though is they're too skewed in favour of recent bands.
Metacritic fans 8.9
Your Rating: 8
NME Readers Average Rating: 3.80
It's hardly going to appeal to their demographic is it?
Even Slint is a 3 when i last checked. I'm going to top myself.
