Did anyone get tickets for this? Seems sold out on the Southbank site.
I was going to buy tickets tonight - surely not sold out already!?
seemed to go to members.
I got to the booking page and decided I couldn't be bothered, I've seen them loads of times anyway.
as looks like they're doing Dylan covers. And I don't care what Thurston Moore says, I still don't like Bob.
Which is why the 'freewheeling' bit - I might be wrong though.
I logged in at 9.56, they were gone by 10.02.
The concessionary rate tickets there are amazing: 4 tickets in row B of the stalls with a good bit of change out of £40. Amazing.
ah well, they'll have a new album soon, plus an inevitable tour.
so if anyone wants some mint concession rate tickets pm me and I may be able to hook you up.
covers, shouldn't it be "The Freewheelin' Yo La Tengo" (note the apostrophe)?
Is this the kind of statement that gives DiS a bad name?
for any other Mletdown events? Tempted by Patti Smith or Plastic Ono Band, kind of...
More for Silver Mt Zion but it'll be interesting to see what they pull out of the woodwork as a collaboration.
I hope it's not sold out by the time I get back from work...
or wait for a proper tour. I'm worried that an acoustic setup might strip them of much of their live power.
untill i found out it was acoustic. As much as i love them, Yo La Tengo acoustic isnt all that appealing.
still, I do love YLT lots so I'm torn.
their website says it will involve "copious amounts of electricity".
What does that means?
but I got tickets from See. I have a bootleg from one of their last Freewheelin Tours and it sounded like a great show. Full of funny talk and nice covers, plus lots of songs from their back catalogue. I am looking forward to this...just hoping they're electric at Primavera and not doing the Freewheelin thing there as well.
and over by 9:30, apparently.
apparently my pal managed to get front row tickets which will be amazing.
