I'd heard Day and Age recently, and forgot just how fucking good those first two are.
Sam's town is rubbish
I think Hot Fuss just reminds me of good times, starting uni and it was everywhere.
Sam's Town had a couple of great songs, but lots of filler that all sounded the same, that they then went on to release as singles for some reason (unknown)...
Human is one of the worst songs I've heard this year, awful.
Brandon Flowers once said something that upset me and put me off, but due to the onset of old age I've completely forgotten what it was. So I have recently recalled how much I loved Hot Fuss, and so I did a catch up on the albums I've missed. I really like their new stuff. So there you have it, I'm a fan again, and I'm really looking forward to seeing The Killers at Oxegen.
they're good for karaoke or dancing at weddings that sort of stuff, they certainly have the songs that inspire a certain collective joy...in the same way Bryan Adam and power-ballads have a certain appeal.
I shouldn't be here really :)
which is basically not much, they appear to be shit live, flowers constantly looks and sounds terrified
"BEST GIG EVER!!!!!"
I did a double take, before realising that I wasn't actually looking at anything.
I reckon if Killers had jacked it all in immediately after the end of track 7 on Hot Fuss ('On Top') they'd go down as a great band. Alas...
Albums are mostly shite
Now they formulate saccharine shite.
But tbh The Killers are so big and poppy now they've pretty much entered the realm of guilty pleasure for me. I was moderately drunk watching their set at Reading last year and though it was obvious his vocals were weak me and my best friend just had such a blast dancing around and singing to songs which, let's face it, are pretty much some of the most recognizable of the decade, and IMO some of the best too.
I always thought Sam's Town was strong as well.
Hot Fuss - half good, half boring
Sam's Town - surprisingly brilliant
Day & Age - terribly disappointing; killed my interest in them for now
only alteration would be replace 'half good' with 'half terrific'
of Hot Fuss. pretty good. that is all.
