MY MIND IS LIKE A PLASTIC BAG
at like 11pm or 12pm something has gone HORRIBLY HORRIBLY WRONG!
As far as I can see, no clashes (or major ones at lease) so im happy :D (for me anyways)
no horrible clashes. Only thing is I sort of wish that less of the bands I really like were playing the Pavilion Stage, but that's a minor point. Pretty good scheduling overall. Interesting to see the gaps on the other stages when the headliners are on, has that always happened?
should book an earlier train then.
to get from Taunton train station to Butlins. This may be pushing it a bit ...
Although I'm not going, shall I populate it?
Loads more this year
But having to split my time between Grizzly Bear and Harvey Milk doesn't sound good...
Shearwater on Sunday afternoon sounds peeeeerfect... and Andrew WK followed immediately by Devo... YES.
but Grizzly Bear and Harvey Milk both rule, so that clash bites.
are playing at the Macbeth, Shoreditch on the night before ATP, as a warm up... put that in your pipe and smoke it.
looks stupidly good. :D
damn, i have to watch Electric Wizard but clases with 50% of the Edan set. thats my only problem. Oh and Marnie Stern too seems to clash. But fuck it, im now only going to see Jesus Lizard and Sleep play twice, the rest is just a bonus. Probably spend the rest of my time bowling and drinking Bloody Mary's.
so once already on a high after devo i get to finish friday night with fuck buttons into edan? a-fucking-mazing.
quit with the swearing already.
is The Acorn clashing with Young Marble Giants but that's not really a difficult choice...
tis a shame. no offence to the acorn but...
that the frankly awesome friday will be my 34th birthday. what a time to be alive.
the 8th is my birthday also.just remembered this
if i see another atp-er kitted out in the site shop's best birthday finery i'll buy you a pint.
all i can say is thank the lord that the jesus lizard are playing twice. and missed qui last time they played in uk so i'm well happy. apart from devo, health and !!!, not too sure about the other bands. any recommendations people??
only clash is awk and m83 but awk is only a curiosity
But it was just him with a keyboard. wouldn't have enjoyed it half as much if I hadn't have been really drunk and in a vest
I'm making an excel spreadsheet.
Two weeks two days!!!
Lords into Retribution Gospel Choir will bring the rock.
Can someone stick it on YouSendIt? Zshare's blocked in my office.
to forward to you.
Turns out .xls files are now totally blocked on my computer, so I can't open it anyway. It's almost like they think I should be working right now. GAH.
I can't think of an .xls related pun.
Previously I could open .xls files in Word, but the new version actually blocks them. No idea why.
I want to see The Jesus Lizaard, but I really can't miss Marnie Stern.
Updated Stage Times spreadsheet can be downloaded here: http://www.zshare.net/download/59166573be621f36/
i.e. now includes the cinema screenings.
Looks like there's going to be no-one there I like at all! Thanks for warning me x
It's going to have to be a mad mid-set dash there...
far more fun drinking cheap lager and posting on DiS than we will x
he's painfully self obsessed, foot shuffling, whiney and completely talentless.
and Casiotone is the most emo thing I've ever heard.
or maybe Mark Lanegan. More for his solo stuff than Screaming Trees though.
I just listened to Casiotone for the first time ever a few weeks ago to see if it was worth going to see them live and was baffled after hearing you love them so. A few good tunes, but it sounds like the antithesis of your tastes.
That said, I might see Beirut. The album doesn't do much for me, but I might like it live.
After being unable to stand the female vocals on White Corolla.
It was quite good. I don't know about the instrumentation - I'd rather have heard a mournful slide guitar or something, rather than a cheap casio. But that's doubtless half the point. His voice is great, you're right. Reminds me of Bonnie Prince Billy or something.
I was at that. They were a bit rubbish...
I might go and see Casiotone tomorrow.
grizzly bear and that's it
and those 3 bands are for pussies.
M83 followed by Devo probably doesn't make it worth ducking out for a bit in the middle to see Andrew WK. he's bound to play at a million chalets over the weekend anyway.
fuck buttons on late - good work!
second day i only want to see errors and marnie stern. both at reds. weird, usually there's no-one i want to see at reds.
sunday - half clash between FOTL and !!!, seen FOTL before so will leave halfway through. tempted to spend the entire rest of the day watching Lydia Lunch's Horribly True Confessions.
all in all, excited YAYTP
Do we yet know which one will be the Holy Mountain performance? Jamie?
all of holy mountain and then bits and pieces of dopesmoker after i believe
"We’re going to play Holy Mountain the first night, Jerusalem the second night"
I really hope this is true.
Best go to both just to be sure :-)
marnie stern in reds = :D
anyone still looking for a chalet spot? i think we need one more for ours...
But antipop all the way
THIS IS PARTY.
strangely busy, total clashmageddon. The other days look tiptop though.
That's gonna wipe me out.
Then Fuck Buttons will finish me off. Friday is going to wreck me.
bands start at 3.30: what time do the chalets open?
Can we get a priority wristband for the Sunday jesus lizard performance on the saturday without hanging round? i wanna see Marnie stern over jesus lizard on the sat.
can they sort it so you can get into the chalets before 4.00 this year? having bands start so early, it's kind of a prerequisite.
check in is from midday
No real problems for me, cannot wait !!!
It's colour coded and has all three days on one sheet
this is very useful
btw, it would be remiss of me not to point out that the ATP Bingo and Pop Quiz will be taking place on Saturday and Sunday at 2pm as usual, believe we're back in the Crazy Horse this time
jaks was too cold.
No. Done already.
But colour coding & 3 in 1? How can I compete?
really good schedule...can't complain too much...of course there's always gonna be clashes/overlaps (Grizzly Bear vs Harvey Mil, boo).
seems that Grouper is a really strange choice to open on the Friday though.
surely Grouper is crying out to be on Sat or Sun morn when people are at their most hungover and need soothing?!
and if you can swap future of the left and parts and labour, that would be good.
Looks like I'm going to be doing lots of running around on Friday, I'll just have to remember not to get distracted by Time Crisis this time.
I jut worry about being late for Grouper....
dag nab it! is grouper doing any more uk shows while she's over?
I assume the reason she's playing early is as she's going straight back over to tour with Animal Collective in the states from the monday.
DO NOT MISS GRIZZLY BEAR
probably one of the best live bands at this fest
Jeffrey Lewis vs. HEALTH
M83 vs. Andrew W.K.
Electric Wizard vs. Fuck Buttons
But I'm now super jazzed about this. Hellz yeah!
So I can see Jeffrey Lewis. Might miss Parts & Labor to see Killing Joke, which isn't too bad, as I've seen P&L before.
Grizzly Bear/Harvey Milk will take some thinking over.
grizzly business all the way.
Harvey are fucking awesome, GB are faintly dull.
harvey milk is a faded relic of lameness. Alright if you just want to feel like you are "rocking out"
GRIZZLY BEAR>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>HARVEY MILK
for songs, musicianship and a good show
But jedeteste is right. After listening to "Life..." this morning, Harvey Milk it is.
And I love GB. But srsly... no contest.
Have I missed something, weren't Wolf Parade playing?
Well in that case I haven't missed anything, carry on.
Between each stage/room/whatever they are?
Have a look at the map on the Butlins site, they're basically next door or on top of each other.
It seems to have disappeared.
at the furthest? Reds is directly below Centre Stage, no distance at all.
Grails clash with the 2nd half of Arsenal v. Chelsea...
I wonder what the ratio of Arsenal to Chelsea Grails fans is.
ok, so friday is going to be getting straight on the party-wagon then? bit of a good start to the festival!
niiiiiiiiice. was hoping for m83 as a prelude to devo. i am actually going to break with excitement.
good job saturdays full of all the sit-down-have-a-cuddle-and-neck-some-opiates music
except andrew wk ima follow you around friday
DRINKY DRINKY TIME
Electric Wizard -> Fuck Buttons -> mess
I can't wait biz.
if not :( i only found out where it was last time and it's handy to sit down in the dark & have a rest...
we just announced the cinema times on the website.
robocop at 2am?
i voted for Robocop and Westworld... finally ATP took notice of me... shame about An American Werewolf in London being missed ! hehe.
So i get to face SLEEP and be destroyed and then go watch Robocop.
might bring my duvet.
yeah surely its the dvd being projected, so might aswell project the uncut version!
where the hell did they get westworld and robocop projection Jamie...it costs a bomb to find prints and hire them thats if they are still in circulation!
But it's okay, he doesn't mind.
some time last year you said there might be Buster Keaton. there is no Buster Keaton.
The preston match is on at the same time as M83, suppose I could miss the beginning (of the footy). Is there anywhere on the site that plays matches? I am sorta assuming it's gonna be on sky or something...
it is on sky, does anyone know if there'll be a pub i can catch the second half near or on site?
So it'll no doubt be showing it.
I want to see our surely inevitable route to the premiership
i'll be there in 24 hours! hell yeah.
just go, even if you don't know anything about them :-) it's the original lineup playing the oldies, they were incredible at their Heaven warm up show at last night, really mad! be interesting to hear how they go down at ATP..,
How does the system work for seeing Jesus Lizard / Sleep - as in, is there some wristband thing to guarantee you can see them on a given day (since not everyone can see them at once)? Want the Marnie Stern Saturday Jesus Lizard Sunday combo, missing out altogether somehow would induce severe disappointment. Experts?
you can get a wristband to guarantee entry on the sunday.
As in, how do we obtain the wristband, and where from (and when)? As alluded to, I plan to watch Marnie Stern on Saturday, who is on at roughly the same time, then see Jesus Lizard on Sunday.
on the saturday
