anyone else going? i'm going on the monday. can't wait!
But i may have to work late - aaaarrrrrggggghhhhhhhhhhhh!
due to SONIC YOOF on Monday. Means I'm going on my own but hell, that's probably the best way to see them.
re-bought for the sunday, or actually just switched it on wegottickets? I have the same problem with Sonic Youth clash.
more in hope than expectation, but as it turned out they were happy to switch my ticket from Monday to Sunday for no extra charge.
in london on both sunday and monday, gonna try and go to both!
"you've been super sweet, Glasgow. Unlike Manchester...oooh, let's not go there, i don't even wanna talk about that"
FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!
except them missing their ferry on the way from Dublin?
that they'd had to wait until half 10 for cftpa to even arrive.
Three were on the balcony so he probably couldn't see us, I could see maybe two on the floor who looked vaguely interested.
He did arrive at 10:30 though to be fair. I had a good time though!
Shame about the ferry though because it meant that his brother who was with him couldn't play. All credit though to those who filled in with like no notice.
depends if i can be bothered. i don't like going out on sundays. he was really good when i saw him in march though...
why not go on the monday if you don't like going out sundays? or are you seeing sonic youth?
Everyone that matters, anyway...
everyone knows all the cool kids will be swaying and tapping their feet to cftpa
the cool kids will actually be standing around for a couple of hours until he staggers out and proceeds to trample over his back catalogue like a drunk falling through the front door of a bedsit.
Bush Hall I believe.
Time before that at the Luminaire - marckee gives an accurate description
to rub it even more i'll probably be in heathrow and then on the picadilly line when sonic youth are on stage, missing it by a couple of hours, bah.
Sonic Youth and (Monday's) Casiotone? I'm now going to Sunday's Luminaire show and gave my Monday CTFTPA ticket away
and monday is sold out anyway
despite sleazy's being like, the worst layout for a venue EVER. Also the crowd were a bunch of cocks during Concern's set, which was a shame cause he was really ace. i guess the Casiotone massive aren't really that into drone.
Catriona is just a testicle.
Sneaky, Sleazy, it's all the same.
shut up :(
Can I just take a moment to say that is the best name for a venue I've ever heard
surprised at how few people turned up for it though.
looking forward to it
if so how was it?
played the first two-thirds of the set solo, taking requests most of the time so that it was a virtual greatest hits set. Then did new stuff (and a bit of old stuff) with the full band. He ended up playing almost all of Etiquette plus lots of stuff off the b-sides album and some earlier stuff too. Great atmosphere and rapport between band and audience, top gig.
My advice: skip the support bands. Plug in particular were dreadful. CFTPA didn't come on till after 10 last night.
Crayon Fields instead
second this. we got an 80ish minute set and it was allllll wonderful. concern was fun as well.
ace venue, CFTPA were wicked solo and as a band... Owen was very engaging with the audience all night. I echo the sentiments about the support bands but the main event easily made up for it. Managed to just get my last tube as well which was a bonus. Hello to the lovely Irish girl I chatted to between the support acts in case you lurk on here.... it was kinda scary how music our musical tastes overlap! I was going to say 'bye but had to scurry for the tube
