abysmal, but i would give them another chance based on their recorded stuff i've heard.
for three days now, great song.
Shall be watching them next week, pretty excited
I got given their demo CDR at ATP last year, still put it on a fair bit, should really check out them live/hear more of their stuff.
graveyard shift absolutely epic. havent heard much else.
are they bad live? :(((((
They were ace live last week as well.
That is all.
they are great and really nice guys as well
supporting Skeletons. The songs were good but there seemed to be a 5 min gap between each of them as they had loads of equipment problems and seemed like the kind of band who wanted each piece of equipment to be perfectly set up for the song instead of just going FUCK IT and playing the next song.
Not managed to catch them live yet. I'd forgive them a few technical issues, they havn't been gigging for very long!
Also their video is HOT! (and features the star of the recent Dominos pizza advert fact fans!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLhY_UAEstA
hope they do bloody well and looking forward to seeing them at the great escape...
ps high horse is the pinnacle and may be the best opening track I have seen to gig this year!
in Manc in Wednesday - nice!!!
Ah well, if they are good I won't complain.
They play a slightly different version of The Graveyard Shift live with Dan almost freestyling at times. Seems they're growing into gigging and the music. If they sort their live levels out then they might just be one of the best new bands around.
Someone told me they've got a new single on the way too. Hope they'll be playing it at the Camden Crawl this weekend.
before I realised they were all popular and shit obviously... :)
'Presumably they will gather a tiny audience with those ignoring them in favour of the bar no doubt attempting to drop the bands name in 6 months time.'
HAHA! Ain't that the truth! The cynical scenekids can't really see potential through their hair-sprayed until it's too late. I'm seeing a bandwagon rolling by on forums with children barking 'I seen em when they played a toilet in Brixton. I knew they wuz sick then, yeh?'
Steve Lamacq seems to have been on it too:
i think i'll come. Then i'm off to bloomsbury bowl after. Send me an facebook event invite!
That's a pretty big plug but well timed really :)
Anyone actually got their hands on a copy of the 7"? Dunno what the B-side sounds like so figure it's worth a trip to Rough Trade just to find out.
I randomly clicked on that Last.fm Friendship thread, expecting to read something interesting about the band there but it just turned out to be a desperate facebook-style plea for cyber-pseudo-friendship.
What's Friendship's deal on Last.fm anyway?
Seems to randomly start playing some random hindi tabla jamz for me instead of bangin out the tracks featured on myspace.
Saw them live and felt that it really lacked something. All present and very very correct in terms of pedals, sounds and stuff. But often when people fetishize details and gear to that degree they are kind of way prissy and more bothered with the details and the style than the actually music or it's content.
Like a really intricate and involved exercise in box ticking.
Such a brilliant gig.
And lovely guys, to boot!
