Yeah Yeahs Yeahs
Weezer - which I could stab myself in the face about. They really are fannying around about getting a European tour together.
Times New Viking - I saw them walking off stage at Shred Yr Face Mk. 1, which doesn't count at all.
Dinosaur Jr. - same with missing Weezer.
Wolf Parade + Handsome Furs.
Jonas Brothers - but perhaps it's best I don't go to see them. However, when I went to see Timberlake, it was the best show ever - big pop concerts ftw.
we hung out with justin when we were making th album. absolutely gutted. one of the greatest bands that ever was, a genuinely independant indie rock band with the worlds best songs. now doing manual labour and playing in covers bands.
ps they were AMAZING live
soon to be rectified, however.
absolutely hideously disappointed
with that charisma and stage presence, you'd be better off making little twig figures to put on stage and then playing the cd in the background
i missed death cab at t in the park due to someone pulling out and changing the schedule. missed them in edinburgh as i was at the cardinals the same night. My morning jacket just always cancel!
cos I got shot in the head just before they last came around LA. Hopefully, I'll be a little quicker about ducking if bullets are flying cos I really want to see these acts.
was gonna see them in Oxford but then it got cancelled. Grr!
so, so many
The Decemberists - i've only just got into them in the last year or so, started with The Crane Wife and worked my way back. but it looks like they will be touring the UK later this year, woo!
The Mountain Goats - see above but replace with Heretic Pride
Low - I've always loved them but never seen them live, no idea how i've missed them everytime they come over
Grizzly Bear (soon to be rectified!)
Cyann & Ben
Amusement Parks on Fire
Godspeed You Black Emperor!
I need to go and sit in a dark room and be depressed for a little while.
Not very active, are they?
The Mae Shi
starting in south london, at night on a bus. Kode 9 has to keep him locked in a cupboard with a bowl of snap crackle and pop to stop this happening.
i've seen most of those, you've missed out!
Dananaykroyd (In fact all the Awesome Pals set bar JoFo)
TV On The Radio
I have however seen The Wombats 3 times so life doesn't totally blow.
Also Grizzly Bear, The Decemberists and Sufjan Stevens
it's beginning to annoy me.
So you can catch them soon!
they play pretty much every town/city about 5 times a year a piece
something always comes up, it's ridiculous.
I really want to catch them live sometime it looks like brilliant fun, every time they have been around I've either been busey or skint.
But for active bands:
Faith No More (to be sorted soon)
HORSE the Band
who I really want to see
Future Of The Left
Sonic Youth (though should be going to ATP)
De La Soul (Again hopefully rectified at ATP, though they are playing another date I can get to)
I would quite like to see The National too.
most fun i've ever had at a live music show was seeing them at Heaven. Go! Now! Theyre touring again shortly.
I have seen everyone else that I really like.
Early Day Miners
Throw Me The Statue
Windsor For The Derby
Talons' is doing a world tour at the end of the year to coincide with re-releasing songs for babes on Own Records, I'll badger him to come to the UK.
AC/DC (to be remedied NEXT WEEK)
Bon Iver (might change this soon!)
TV On The Radio (will catch them at Benicassim)
Kings of Leon (again, Benicassim will amend this)
I can't think of anymore I haven't seen already.
I've seen just about everybody else that I want to see.
their new EP is tremendous. I imagine they'd be really pleasant live, for want of a better word.
well I'm trying to get them over for a week in September so maybe you can experience the pleasantness then, personally i'm hoping for a warm fuzzy experience, ha who knows how it'll actually sound like!
I'll keep my ear to the ground.
TV On the Radio
HEALTH (they're playing Manchester next week but it's one of those ridiculously-timed Now Wave nights)
Maps & Atlases
DJ Shadow (I saw him on the Hard Sell tour with Cut Chemist, but it was shit)
I like them but they are dreadful live.
DJ Scotch Egg
The Sound of Animals Fighting
Dog Fashion Disco
Fear Before the March of Flames
Do Make Say Think
MF Doom (in any alias)
....toooooooooo many, considering i've been going to gigs for 12 years and live in a music hub of a city!
pretty silly really :-(
I can't believe that! Go see them. They're still great!
I've seen them a stupid amount of times and I'm not even a massive fan.
i've probably seen them close to 20 times without even trying
Dananananaykroyd (I've missed them playing nearby *at least* 3 times)
Doesn't look like they're gonna book a London show either :(
most of the stuff on not not fun - pocahaunted, sun araw, robedoor and that (hear they are coming over this summer though which will be shit hot), espers, skullflower ....
melt-banana? They're miles better live than on CD.
Off the top of my head I can only get a few but I know there's tons of bands I wanna see:
Boards Of Cananda (I know they're probably never gonna play a gig again)
Lighning Bolt in a real venue that isn't the shitty Forum
Surprised at the number of people whom mention rammstein. I got dragged along to see them when I was like 15 or about that age. That was a fucking odd night.
(but really, they're all fantastic live, especially Melt Banana, awesome)
I am almost definitely seeing the Thermals this month, though. So like, one down this year.
Stars of the Lid (I even had tickets to see them at the Luminaire 18 months back, but was just too tired)
That's probably about it, really. I've managed to see most of the bands I've wanted to, albeit nowhere near as many times as I'd like.
the knife (semi-active)
soulwax / 2manydjs
probably loads more
But that will all change on June 1 (unless something horrible happens to me)
Explosions In The Sky
Genghis Tron (gutted about them pulling out of Supersonic)
The Sound of Animals Fighting(semi-active since I think it's quite unlikely they'll tour again or release another album)
Weezer - ffs tour the UK already!
Finally rectifying in December.
...best live concert experience
still want to see:
I'm sure there's more.
I got offered a ticket for Bowie's "Low" gig and I turned it down. What a cock.
I think that's about it really in terms of bands I "love".
Though in thinking about it I've never seen;
The Rolling Stones
and would quite like to.
but they wont tour, so idk if they count.
its challenging when they only have ever played a couple of shows thou.
tv on the radio (3 years ago i was about to buy tickets for them when my girlfriend phoned to tell me she had bought tickets to see rancid that night and that i had to go with her or she would break up with me)
however, i have seen quite a lot of the bands that other people have listed, so i feel relatively smug :]
Dillinger Escape Plan
Andrew Bird (rectified in a month or so, yay!)
These Arms are Snakes
didn't tour here after their last records. Still haven't seen them live and would love to. I also want to see The Warlocks &
just so you know, Meneguar are great live. it wasn't that long ago that they toured the uk, were you all under rocks?
I am quite bad at getting round to going to live music. I blame my friends mostly.
I'm so crap.
Why?.... after many years finally got myself a ticket, only for it to be cancelled. bum woe.
last year and that was really good as were why?
would most like to see the knife, got tickets for fever ray so that will have to do for now.
This changes a week today.
I've managed to miss them each time they came to Paris.
They're back in May. I'll try to be there this time...
Melt-Banana (to be remedied this month)
Art Brut (soon rectified)
Les Savy FAv
My Bloody Valentine
Belle & Sebastian
Dilinger Escape Plan
....so so many :(
I'm happy to say i'v seen pretty much all the bands i love. Although i'd ove to see Ozma
to the Art Brut gig in london?
Tom Waits (God damn... Just Edinburgh? Gah!)
Sloan (Only if they played stuff from Smeared through to Navy Blues)
Yo La Tengo
