i really love all of the above & band them all together. unsure why.
i really like it. thanks, random purchases from the volcanic tongue mailout!
dunno any of the rest though.
you might like some of the stuff that's going to be released on our label: www.myspace.com/splittapes
you might not though.
Meth Teeth, the put out a great single last year.
have you heard nerve city? stuff in a similarly awesome vein: http://www.myspace.com/nervecity
Awesome band. I only mention it because I heard Blank Dogs and Dum Dum Girls hold them as a key influence.
Because they're awesome perhaps?
Seriously, when I saw this thread I had visions that this was a gig line-up and was about to book my flight to the UK.
Pretty inbred list though!
Mike Sniper (from DC Snipers) = Blank Dogs, he's also in The Mayfair Set with the chick from Dum Dum Girls, and he has a project with Gary War too.
Zola Jesus is lead by some 19 year old chick (Nika), also in the band is Dead Luke (who is supposedly not going to release anything again after the backlog - so unfortunatley that project seems dead), for more factoids - Nika has just joined Former Ghosts, who are Freddy Ruppert (This song is a mess but so am I)'s new project, along with Jamie Stewart.
Kurt Vile was in Haunted Graffiti too (I think), as was Gary War.
[JAG] Dana (Testicular Manslaughter) was also in Haunted Graffiti, at the same time as Gary War/John Maus, and he put out a free album on my little netlabel - www.rackandruinrecords.com - get it :)
I think one of your posts you made panda bear, put me onto a lot of equally awesome similar bands; Nodzzz, No bunny etc. Cheers!
i knew most of those links but not all. preeeeetty great.
i want to download more from your netlabel but i dont really know where to start. obvs you'd recommend everything but any particular starting points?
most popular artists, Dublin Duck Dispensary, America Del Sur, Jason the Swamp, Chimney Fish. The new unreleased one from Andy's Airport of Love has been described as Blank Dogs goes pop. Slothbear also need more loving.
Cause I was maybe going to do a thread about Captured Tracks but never did. Pretty good stuff. (http://www.myspace.com/capturedtracks)
by Blessure Grave is sooooo damn good.
The new Blank Dogs 12" is quite a venture more into the world of pop and the new Zola Jesus album is very good.
