is already enough to seriously tempt me. Animal Collective would probably just make me buy my tickets right now today right this second instead of doing the logical thing and waiting until i actually have the money.
The fact that I live within walking distance is usually enough temptation for me. But, the idea of AC playing there is SERIOUSLY exciting! I saw them already at Bristol but I really love the idea of enjoying them playing out a night among our lovely mountains...
They sold out Paradiso here in Amsterdam last month, which is 1,600, pretty surprising to see considering the two times i'd see them before then (05 + 07) there were probably less than 10% of that total in attendance.
either last year or the year before was pretty horrible. It's a venue that can be very different depending on where you stand I find though. If i went to this I'd probably get right in front of the soundboard.
just got mine through the pre-sale on nme
roll on August
here's the presale for those who want it:
http://www.nme.com/news/ticket-news/43923
i'm sure it will sell out
as the album gathers more and more momentum, as well as festival appearances etc.
and Reading/Leeds
if they played greenman that would tip the scales for me and convince me to go.
yeah Grizzly Bear, Bon Iver, Andrew Bird

either way im well up for going.
apparently AC were added to Greenman's facebook page
yesterday, but I have not been able to log on to verify this
I have secured my Greenman ticket already, but this would really strengthen the line-up and turn it from good to magic
i'd say this is almost confirmation for Reading, given the hyping they've received for this album
i can
barely believe this. back when I first head Spirit i'd never have pictured them playing in such a big space..
they've sold out koko and then the larger forum
earlier this year; both shows sold out well in advance. peeps love the AC.
I'm already going to Greenman

it's pretty crazy
they were playing the Scala on the 'Feels' tour only a few years ago.
what's the capacity of the brixton academy?

it's about 4k i think
4921 apparently.
i don't understand why anyone is shocked by this.
The most talked about band on DIS in 2009 is Animal Collective.
The most talked about album on DIS in 2009 is MMP.
Animal Collective play a gig in March at the Forum which sells out and tickets are being sold at inflated prices by ebay, touts etc.
Animal Collective announce gig at Brixton Academy in 4 months time.
There is nothing shocking about any of this.
It's all utterly predictable isn't it ?
Using that logic they should have booked the O2
i hope for your sake you never become a promoter
elementary my dear dicksuck
.
this mofo is on general sale now
http://www.atpfestival.com/Events/AnimalCollectiveBrixton.php
Hopefully they'll sell a bit slow so that I can get one when I get paid
Still never seen them :'(
And I think at Glastonbury they're going to be headlining the Park, meaning a clash with either Neil Young, Bruce or Blur :'(
they
are headlining the fri, so a neil young clash.
Ouch, Young is probably the only headliner I'd wobble on too
Hmmmm
please play reading, animal collective
pleaaaaaaaase
is the sound still shit at Brixton Academy?
I haven't been there in years, mainly because every time I've been, the sound has been terrible. AC will really suffer if that's still the case
Well Mars Volta
either last year or the year before was pretty horrible. It's a venue that can be very different depending on where you stand I find though. If i went to this I'd probably get right in front of the soundboard.
i wonder how fast the green man announcement will take to make it here
