and i really love it. so nice to see an act moving forward and consolidating their debut effort.. good stuff
tis excellent, well impressed. still really love Daniel
I don't know if it's the production, but the songs seem like they should be a lot more affecting than they actually are (in terms of composition and whatnot).
So just taking that in focus, you are patently false since that song is very affecting indeed. It's a pretty emotive album all round if you ask me. Say what one will, you can't accuse Natasha Khan and the girls for having no soul in their music.
I'm saying that the production is poor. It's quite clear from the lyrics, the structure of the songs and the style of singing that there is emotion in this album. I never suggested there wasn't. However, for me, the production is flat, and this mutes it for me. The drum beats are devoid of depth, and everything else, whether percussion or harps or whatever, has formed one turgid mass. It lets down what seems like some pretty good ideas.
Actually, the only song that I don't think suffers from it is 'Two Planets', not 'Siren Song'.
But please don't let me put words into your mouth... sheesh
The production is poor? The sound of the album comes over clear as day; the instrumentation is varied and clear. There is no emotion in the album? Well you're entitled to your opinion of course but I am tempted to believe that you're an android or you're deceased, because that's the only way I can understand how you could not be "affected" by most of the songs on this album. The drumming on 'Glass' alone is memorable. Don't get me wrong, I'm not amazed by this album but I do think it's good and precisely for positives you have sighted as being vacant.
Still there you have it, everyone's entitled to their opinion - I'm just right.
A proper, complete piece of work from start to finish.
And a grower too.
Pretty much everything I like from an album.
