Anyone else going? I've not been this excited about a gig in a long, long time...
but I'm coming back to London tomorrow, argh. To make it better I just bought my Primavera ticket though. Enjoy.
Wish my exams didn't clash with it, the line-up looks incredible.
all my exams are over by the 15th, meaning i can't go to VS. The Fans but Primavera's on the cards now, maybe a couple of days round Barca before as well.
St Andrews have decided to put exams back by a week this year. I love them so, so much for this.
I can't decide
I just dislike the venue abit too much. If it's the place I'm thinking it's in.
No idea what it's like as a venue, but judging from everything I've heard about them as a live band, I reckon it'll be spectacular. Just looking at some of the live videos of Ocean on youtube and it's one gigantic apocalyptic wall of noise and strobes.
first off it's abit of fucker to find, and you go into the uni building and into a lift to get into the bar, which is very strange at the end of the gig. I donno what I didn't like about the place, I probably just don't like student bars or something...
Sent you a message on last.fm, boyo.
will give you a buzz later.
Fingers crossed that the sound is good, it was awful last time I saw them, and they seemed to get really tired.
But hopefully it should be really good, and I'm looking forward to them playing some new songs
but not going :(
My ears are ringing despite wearing earplugs.
When they hit the floor strobes it was beyond amazing. One of my favourite gigs of the year so far. Pure sonic and visual abuse.
between grunge and post rock, but they make it work.
Darker my love were pretty good, reminded me a little of BRMC, although obviously they had more to their palette.
APTBS- a lot better than the last time I saw them. I thought it was actually kinda scary at times. I still think the sound mix isn't quite right, the vocals get completely lost, but the new songs sounded great. Loved the strobing and the visuals, brilliantly intense performance from Ackerman. I was standing right underneath him-he was doing some funny stuff using a broken string at one point.
and it's pretty decent.
By the way, I hate you all for the fact that you can so easily see bands such as APTBS.
My ears are also ringing badly, though I wore earplugs for about 98% of the gig. I was a shame to miss all the high frequency squeels, but I am so glad I did this morning.
I'm seriously regretting it this morning. It feels like my ears have been compressed between two concrete breeze blocks...the final third of their set was probably the best 20 minutes of live music I've ever seen though.
are playing the victoria in london tonight!
and what time are they on?
