you, not Animal Collective.
electronica outfit. Yes, we all want innovation in music, but not at the expense of, y'know, a decent tune.
Because they're nowhere near as good as everyone keeps saying they are. Bleep-bloop-beep, stick a few African-style vocals on, some vaguely psychedelic synths, and hurrah! The hipsters love it! What a surprise!
well, I don't at least....
I want an actual breakdown, note by note, chord by chord, lyric by lyric, melody by melody, as to how they are, in any way shape or form, a 'great' band.
Occasionally I'll hear a tune and I'll be all: 'Yeah, these AC guys are alright.' I don't know what else there is to make of them. They're 'alright.' Nothing more. Nowt less.
When i saw AC a couple of weeks ago i came out grinning like a madman, and that's all i care about. I don't really take offense to people not liking them, and in return i feel people that don't like them should be the same and just accept that some people love them.
But that was just boring
than an 'animal collective are overrated' thread
care whether they're overrated or not. I thought I'd listen to a song that somebody posted and offer an opinion (if unsubstantiated one) on it.
Some people like that sort of thing. You might not. Deal with it.
Other people might express a contrary one. It's called discussion. Er, yeah, deal with it?
coming so soon after this one: http://drownedinsound.com/community/boards/music/4173352#r4489706
i think the invoking of the H word in music discussion needs to be considered a new extension of Godwin's Law.
they look bored out of there minds there
for some reason they remind me of klaxons in this clip I didn't expect that.
pretty good times, huh?
^ least likely phrase ever to describe animal collective? But they were, those were good times indeed.
thats pretty random
vut I agree this performance looks utterly dire.
...it just never quite seems to blow me away in the manner I'd expect. I was disappointed with them at Explosions Atp. Love their albums but I don't think they're a fantastic live experience, as the clip above justifies...
Which they probably are
