I've got a week at the book-face ahead of me, and would like some nice minimal stuff to get me through it. Go!
Gui Boratto "Take my Breath away"
Lindstrom and Prins Thomas "II"
Those two are good albums. Not sure if they'd help me study to be honest. I used to study along to Roni Size and 4Hero but that was sociology for you. I needed something fast but quite light and spritely to get me through it. To help stimulate my brain when the coursework was woefully lacking in that area.
Broken Social Scene - You Forgot It In People.
I also listen to Arcade Fire when studying, but lots of people won't like that 'cause of the vocals
lots of people don't like to listen to songs with vocals while studying.
Or you can get it off google in MP3 format by searching rapidshare and "gui boratto" "essential mix".
Tortoise and Broadcast. Perfect.
Explosions in the sky - The earth is not a cold dead place or any godspeed usually does it for me
Works for me.
but I've got a few odds and ends of Godspeed / EITS on my PC as well, that seems a canny idea. Got a bit of Fennesz on the go at the minute, that's working quite nicely. Think I'll dig out some Gui Boratto next. Ta for the suggestions guys, keep 'em coming.
trentemoller - the last resort
fairmont - coloured in memory
pantha du prince - this bliss
alex smoke - incommunicado
john tejada's fabric mix
this is all pretty much minimal techno-y...
kicking about, i'd have some of that on (Fairmont (as suggested)James Holden, Extrawelt, Nathan Fake etc).
The most recent Mogwai album is pretty good.
by John Tavener. It's absolutely gorgeous stuff. I used to study to it all the time.
collaborative so feel free to add good stuff
been looking to find something like this for a while!
