Anyone going to Peckham this weekend?
I'm excited, does anyone know if you can bring your own booze?
so i guess not?
although I think on and off because he's sort of working.
I probably won't. Because it's Peckham.
Surely that justifies the location?! And Peckham isn't that bad, my ex lives in Peckham so I used to go there quite a lot, and I'm still alive!
I seem to attract muggers, yet have always left Peckham with my belongings intact :)
Let's tot it up shall we:-
Cost of replacement iPod - £100
Cost of replacement mobile - £250
Cost of replacement cash - £100
Cost of replacement makeup - £100
Cost of replacement handbag - £30
Cost of replacement keys - £30
Grand total: £610
do you see??? NO!
I might mug you now ;')
I *do* need a new handbag.
and very well lit?
I wouldn't even say it was actually in Peckham, to be honest.
and they beat up her mate in front of us.
What difference does daylight make?
It’s right on Old Kent Road just past the massive Tescos.
don't you live in Bow or something? FAIL
I've never been mugged in Bow.
don't fancy staying too late and trying to get home, but there's some bands i'd like to see.
but I've also got to come into work tomorrow and Saturday. If they were to let us know the stage times in advance I could plan my day a bit better.
Unfortunately I can't stay right until the end on Sunday either. The Central Line is shut, and it's going to take a couple of hours to get home. Hopefully I don't miss acts that I want to see.
you probably won't be mugged.
we did a big arts event at the auto italia once and, aside from local residents being angry at the squatters making a massive racket into the night (probably fair enough really) and calling the police, banging on the windows, shouting at everyone who entered or left, and this insane woman who stood outside all day, banging on the window, threatening to "do" everyone, it was fine. no-one actually got hurt...
i think they've moved since then though, i think that particular incarnation of auto italia was demolished. apparently the new one is nicer.
we dont want you
if i'm not too tired in the morning. Sunday am going to the Boat Race instead.
lol at people being scared of going to Peckham. I know people who've been mugged in posh areas too, do you not go to those either?
probably sunday as well, although i need to go to bedford for a bit as it was my sister's birthday yesterday. how incosiderate!
It's £8 for 32 bands, that's a bargain in anyones book. I can't wait to finally see Drum Eyes. Going with quite a few people so not too worried about being mugged, it's on the outskirts of Peckham anyway.
well, sunday anyways. proper PROPER excited.
is bring a 12 piece band for the Drum Eyes set :D
4 piece horn section, 3 drummers, someone solely dedicated to making psychedelic noise... :D
strangely it seemed to be busiest around 7/8pm and by the time Gay Against You came on the crowd had thinned somewhat. and they really struggled as the PA couldn't cope with them and kept cutting out, so they were really quiet. still, a fun day. i'm going to head back over soon...
But yesterday was 'mazin fun scenes.
when they probably live in holloway or dalston or something. why would you assume you'd get mugged? Anyway it's on the Old Kent Road, not the middle of Peckham.
We loved those dogs but they all came a cropper in the end. Ginger's still buried out there under an unmarked paving stone. Ah yes, Peckham. I was only one of us to leave there alive...
kudos to UTR for a fun + cheap weekend
i enjoyed them.
i can see why some people hate them.
EVENTUALLY found the place, after getting lost on the beautiful Old Kent Road and being rained on more than once, only to find it was sold out :(
didn't have a huge problem finding the place yesterday but it's a bit of a trek to get there and then not being able to get in. maybe they could have left some more tickets on the door?... also quite a few people seemed to be leaving for good when i was hanging out outside so they could have let people take their place (probably not possible i know...)? it did look good though, how big was the gig space?
it's not like they were hard to take off, i saw quite a few people passing them on as they left for good.
i enjoyed yesterday a lot more than saturday. it's kind of a shame that, having work today, couldn't really go too overboard. PENS, Trashkit, Corey Orbison, Teeth were all ace, and a few others too, though i'm not yet sure who they were...need to do some research.
though tbh friend i was with wasn't too patient with the situation...
although u!tr really need to find a little more diverse range of music, i found myself a little bored yesterday. but i really can't complain cos it was only a fiver. snap.
also, hello guntrip.
nice to meet you.
When I got on the train home 3 different people who were playing texted me to say they'd put me on the guestlist. So, so gutted.
it was hit or miss. aPAtT were awesome. and CHOPS were mighty. we all found the building really cold, so went to the pub for a bit. that was nice, but i think we missed pens and trash kit and other things which were probably good... which was a shame. and we left early so we could go back to reading. boo.
pretty damn cold too! Err, Family Battle Snake was fantastic, the pub nearby was dead nice, and the landlady poured a very good pint of guiness with textbook shamrocks each time. Nice day.
