Spent my lunch break at work listening to this and reading the watchmen. Oddly fits very well.
I'll get back to you soon. I've never heard a Merzbow song in my life.
I can't imagine listening to Merzbow on spotify, mainly because my laptop speakers are so poor and weak and Merzbow is all the visceral experience of the sound.
but I call everything a song, it doesn't matter how experimental, or devoid of regular song like characteristics the music is.
At the moment it's coming across as a load of fairly interesting but pointless droning racket, although I wouldn't say it's unpenetratable at all, I just don't really understand it. It might be something best listened to at night, whilst wearing some decent headphones and laying in bed.
not because it isn't true (it probably is, other than Merzbeat and that other one with drum loops he did), but because the word accessible doesn't fit him at all.
Anyway yeah, nice stuff. I prefer 24 Hours: A Day Of Seals, though. Charcoal Grey Clouds is bleak.
I've got rainbow electronics on it's way through the post, god knows what that'll be like. But even if it's shit I'll still probably make my way through loads more of his stuff. Also while on the subject of noise, is metal machine box by lou reed any good? Or is it as bad as people claim it is?
Too much harmony in there, not as abrasive as people like to make out, but not interesting enough to be listenable. I was supremely disappointed.
like a dalek album without beats or vocals.
Currently sounds like someone wobbling a chainlink fence in a high wind while someone else is using a leaf blower on some tin cans.
being fought in a lawnmower.
Gonna listen to some dubstep.
