where to start
other people will suggest other albums but that's the one I always put on repeat. Other stuff of theirs I don't much like in comparison.
You're a rare breed agreeing with me on that one. Excellent.
It's got everything! Treasure is the album that I fell in love with when I was a kid and got me hooked, but also the Love's Easy Tears EP is completely wonderful.
It's worth having a look at the YouTube stuff of the Cocteaus on The Tube, Musette & Drums when Gurthrie really lets the guitar go is incredible.
Although it's a compilation it holds very nice memories of me falling asleep to Cocteau Twins when I was a nipper. Four Calendar Cafe and Milk and Kisses are probably my favourite. I don't think you can go wrong with Cocteau Twins, everything I've heard by them is just amazing.
He would deffo agree with Mirri.
For me, it has some of their best songs on but I don't think it's their best album as such, but it's a winner nonetheless.
It's their high-water mark imo. The first CT album I heard though was Four Calender Cafe, which is their most 'poppy'. Seriously an amazing band - none of their albums sound the same (although they all have that other-world quality about them). Stars and Topsoil is a good introduction but they have a hefty back catalogue so a compilation can't really do them justice.
is their meisterwerk, then go to Heaven or las vegas. If using spotify, make sure you hear loves easy tears, cico buff, tishbite, orange appled, garlands, aikea guinea, multifoiled from the other records. It's all fabulous, except maybe some of the late era b-sides from the singles. They are just not quite good enough, and then they split up.
