I really can't decide....
I preferred them as a two-piece too
but then again the first album I bought was There's No 666... so it never bothered me as much as the fans that may have been there since the beginning.
But the vocals do get really fucking annoying in places after a few listens. And I find the twopiece stuff a little lacking in substance- a bit aimless sounding.
I'm going to sit on the fence here.
There's No 666 In Outer Space. The music is really fucking great, but the vocals are a bit patchy.
I've also got Hold Your Horse Is and Church Gone Wild. The former is pretty great, the latter is amazing in places but a bit too scatterbrained.
The guys voice is awful.
I'm not a great fan of his voice, it grates at times, but the music is pretty good. What's the music like on the other albums, in comparison? "Hold Your Horse Is" tends to get talked about a fair bit, I might be interested in getting it.
Absolutely shite as a 4 piece.
much much better, dont sound anything like mars volta, much more interesting.
