That was pretty insane.
The DJ did a god job of psyching up the crowd beforehand by playing this, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RI2IyHXJo5M and this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuw7tcftAoU and this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=777kGx7-qLw
and not throwing up :(
Feeling better now?
I nearly lost my glasses - they got knocked off, but somehow managed to fly up onto the DJ booth and away from trampling feet.
Are you going to White Heat on tuesday?
Crystal Antlers and Three Trapped Tigers (who I've just discovered are pretty good)
I've not got a ticket, but I am planning on going to White Heat.
Datashock tomorrow, Crytal Antlers on thuesday, Action Beat on wednesday, Gable on Friday then Eric Cheneaux/Dead Rat Orchestra on Saturday.
I'm going to need a lie down, I think.
I finish class at 9 though. In Notting Hill :(
i may attend. they were brilliant there in october. datashock tomorrow has me excited - they are currently in my room which sounds sexy. their music is sexy too i guess. eric/dro at cafe oto will be a good night too.
I thought that it was free, but apparently it's not. Action Beat were the best I've seen then the other week at the George, so they seem to be hitting their stride.
I'm playing football beforehand, and might time it so that I miss the support band, Bad Guys - if last week's show is anything to go by they'll bring a big gaggle of cunts with them and it'll wind me up.
fair enough. i saw an action beat poster in rough trade but forgot the date, hence me guessing the venue. it's £4 i think. still reasonable for them. hope the show at the george went well - i remember drunkenly talking to you about it back at the miller a few weeks ago, apologies for my incoherency.
I was worried about your glasses in that scrum. Worried about all glasses-wearers.
I LOST MY SHOE. I had to get a taxi home. Had to wait twenty minutes at the venue, and I'd intermittently start dancing and then remember I-didn't-have-a-shoe and it was a potential danger dance. But yeah, fun night!
though i am disappointed you don't look like roland from grange hill
If you're that disappointed, all it would take is a sustained burger-eating regime, and I'm sure I could get there.
i imagine he was a roland at school. now he's super-cool. that's what happens to all the rolands.
don't care for their recorded output but live they are one of the best bands i've seen.
was he a swarthy dreamboat?
He was surrounded by a harem of stunning rock chix.
that was lags of gallows guitaring fame
he is actually a good dj though. damn him.
The 7" they released last year was pretty good.
I liked them.
I didn't think much of Male Bonding, to be honest - which surprised me a little. Perhaps I just took except to the lead singer wearing a checked shirt, thick-rimmed spectacles and a trilby.
in my very humble opinion. as are the sceptres who i think were also playing?
they had a euphoric sound going on.
I thought mob rules were boring. no melody at all!
fucked up weren't really trying at all. the sound was really bad. the audience were partisan, fucked up could have farted into a tin pot and people would have moshed. they were still fun though.
overall it was a great night, really refreshing to go out to somewhere trendy in london and not be confronted with awful electro music.
what was with all the beanie hats though? Are they the new wife beater vests and backpacks? It was about a million degrees in there! there really was no need for beanies.
