Anyone want a promo of Trouble Book's new EP?
I'm just collating all the people and places I'm sending the promos and press releases to and if you're interested in a nice free cd and sheet of paper then just drop me a line. Its at the pressing plant as we speak and I'm hugely excited about this release, but then I would be, hopefully some other people are as well. Anyway here's the text of the press release for all yee interested.
Akron, Ohio's Trouble Books float even further out into ambient sound on "Endless Pool", the companion piece to their last critically-acclaimed home-recorded full-length, "The United Colours of Trouble Books". Beautiful, melodic songs sung by Keith Freund and Linda Lejsovka are buried beneath or carried on top of droney waves of tremolo guitar and indiscernible sounds. Only Lejsovka's careful bass notes anchor the music down to any sort of real rhythm. Even the drums, when they briefly appear, are scattered and filled with helium.
Limited run of 12" records in hand-made packaging released in the US by Bark & Hiss and UK by MIE Music.
“Sweet Ambient Pop” – Plan B magazine
“You could sort of curl and up just live in this music, cosy and forever.” – The Line Of Best Fit
“Like a wandering trip through a 13 year-old's subconscious, set to beautifully unique, experimental music.” –National Public Radio.
Track Listing:
1. Endless Pool
2. Tolans
3. Hedgehog
4. Drum Kit Drifts Off

a wee bump.
I'd like one, also they're releasing on Own records too, if i'm not mistaken?
I like the sounds I heard on Myspace regardless
sure are, the album "United Colours..."
is being released on CD by Own records on the same date. and i'd recommend everyone who didn't want to buy the LP to try the CD, pretty much my favourite album of last year. anyway just pm where you'd like it, either electronic or post. thanks.
Hey i wouldn't mind a copy too.
Thanks
pm'ed
thanks
I'd love one
after being initially underwhelmed by United Colours I've grown to love it. I could hopefully get a review up on Muso's Guide if I had a promo.
check the ol'inbox
thanks for the kind words.
Thanks - received.
Look forward to hearing it.
Can I mention how great it is to see someone working with such dedication for the music he's passionate about? You rock.
i'm touched!
thanks, now i just need to put this dedication to equal use in my studies as well. haha.

Are you releasing it on vinyl and cd?
pm'd
merci :)
well
like the last release it'll be primarily on vinyl, i.e i'm selling it as 12", but it'll come with a cd-r and the artwork is super nice, so as i'm ever the optimist i'm hoping people who like it but don't have a record player will still but it for the art and just use the cdr, well i can live in hope. do you want a promo copy?
*buy it
Yeah I'd love one please
!
Yes please!

can you send me a megaupload? might do it for another website (contact or musosguide perhaps). might not be able to review though so will feel less guilty if its an mp3 and not a physical copy

Just finished my first listen
It's great. Ideal for this time of night, it's as dreamy and lovely as the album
cheers browno
and i promise you it just gets even better and better on each listen. i've listened to it a crazy amount of times now.
Copy arrived this morning.
V PROMPT. sounds excellent - cant wait to get stuck in to it. i'm deffo shouting about this band to everyone who will listen. Thanks M-I-E.
nae worries George
glad you liked it.
When is this released?
For people to buy?
offically 8th April
but basically when we get the art done and the vinyl arrives from the plant so maybe in two to three weeks.
.
yeah if they're still going!
sure, i just printed off a load more
just drop me a note with an address, thanks.
looking at my desk, i've still got enough for five/six more promos left
anyone else tempted.
also i have eight test pressings of the vinyl left, erm can i be super cheeky and say the next five United Colours of Trouble Books ordered will get a free test pressing of the new EP?
I would like one please
I bought the last album from them directly if that helps qualify me as a fan! And selected early songs.
Erm, what do I need to do?!
I'd be well up for one of these promos
I hear such good things about TB, but have never heard any. This has got to end.
i've got one envelope left
one last one?
I'll have it!
And I'll try and get a review up on The Music Magazine. It's my site, so I'm sure I can manage it!
great, just send me along an address and i'll get it to you asap.
but, you know, anyone else who does want one can still get one, buying new envelopes isn't too taxing for me, just now i won't be bumping this thread anymore.
Beautiful
I'm listening now and it really is great, once again. When you get the official pressings through I must get a copy of this and 'United colours of'. Good work once again, I wish I had the balls to start up a label. Have you got any other artists in mind to bring to our ears?
thanks ricky
really glad it clicked. well i was talking to sunset about their last album ages ago but that fell through so yeah I am looking for another band, as much as i love trouble books i would like to diversify a bit.
Oh I thought you put that Sunset one out??
I guess not though, shame it fell through, it sounded nice.
Got my copy on Tuesday
A gorgeous little record. Sounds a bit like the feeling of being not quite awake under the Duvet on a Sunday morning.
I'll try to get MG to put up my review.
no idea why I capitalised duvet there...
ha, thats a great analogy
its actually what keith wanted the music to evoke and he was pretty happy when for the last record so many reviews brought that up on their own accord. anyway thanks and great that you enjoyed, good luck on the MG review.
this is very good
I've only played it 3 times or so but I'm already kinda in love with it.
I shall spin more and words will come out, I think thats how it works...
I will big up the album as well when I review it as its criminal you have any left heheh
haha thanks jimi
glad you like it, i'm thinking it was my badly hidden website that meant that i've still got 60 copies left and the fact you could only get itfrom there, rough trade and norman records. so i'm in the process of a website revamp.i'm so looking forward to the dulcet words of jimitheexploder.
did the guys at Boomkat ever hear it?
yeah, i badgered them for a while but didn't get a response
but i sent them a promo for this one and i'll get back in touch in a while and see if i get a reply this time.
Good luck with that
I would have thought it would be right up their street, and with a good review from them it would be sure to shit a few units.
* Shift!!
ha
hehe
And speaking of which - technically, of course, "Endless Pool" works out as just "poo"...
heh, thanks ricky
hopefully the response we've got from the wonderful people of dis might be an indicator that people like boomkat might like to take an interest. i don't know, i hope so though.
just one last check to make sure everyone who wanted one got a copy?
thanks
It's ace !
Thanks !
awesome
really glad you like it lyle, thanks.
just to say thanks to the guys who've been putting the reviews up already!
it really really means a lot to a small nearly non-existence label like myself and for the band as well.
and really as i've still got a got a couple of envelopes and stamps left, so any late comers just say.
Review up
