Benicàssim...
Thinking about going to Benicàssim this year for the first time and would like some advice from people who have been before!
Where is the best place to book flights in your opinion/valencia is the place to fly to right?
Have any of you stayed in a hotel while at the festival? Read a few places that you can do this but not sure how expensive it is/if its worth it? If you have stayed in a hotel, where is the best place to stay?
Thank you in advance.
when we went in 2007 (there were 14 of us)
we flew to valencia then stayed in a hotel for 4 days before the camping starts.the hotel was called 'Hotel EXPO' i thin.very nice for how cheap it was.
then we got a taxi to the airport (thats where the buses pick you up to take you to the campsite)
camped in the furthest one away from everything.it was a trek but the night times were fun.theres an aldi/lidl/something like that just outside the camp (i say just outside its a good 10 minute walk)
the campsite is quite far from the festival itself (id say at least 30 minute walk.maybe more)
my advice would be to camp.dont go in a hotel.the campsite is fun.during the day you just chill out on the beach anyway
OK, cool
thanks! I was looking at flights and the cheapest seems to be fly to Barcelona with Ryanair for £75 and get the train to Benicàssim. Cheapest flights I found to Valencia were about £200...
i think we got our flights for about £100
but we booked them early-ish i think
its a really pretty place valencia yeah
id definitely try and fly there if you can.i know its a bit extra but its really beautiful and there are some nice restaurants and bars
There's quite a lot of info in this thread:

with oasis playing this year
it will most likely be full of pissed 'lads'.
Valencia
Barcelona is a nightmare to get home from.
I camped in Bonet which was good, 24 hour bar with a pizza stand
5 euro pint of fresh orange juice goes down a treat in the morning.
Don't fall in with the "Let's go to the beach crowd" - get to the festival site around 9, watch the bands and then party in the Pop tent until 9am then sleep all day
i really couldnt sleep at all during the day
is bonet the one i camped in?the furthest one away?
that orange juice was a godsend
tarragona? some distant airport but cheap
we flew there then spent the night on the beach before getting the train down. just remember - no sleep during daylight hours. the ONLY time it is possible to sleep is 5am - 7.30am unless you can get that spot next to the supermarket where the wall is so high it is shaded all day, otherwise underneath the stage next to that bar on the beach. fun times but you gotta sneak in alcohol, watch out for the pastilles though, some can make your sick green. some nice tapas if you walk a bit further out. guard clean toilets jealously.
