I'll get the ball rolling with BON IVER.
wether they will be worth hearing or not is another thing entirly.
I can see Deerhunter and associated projects going on for a long time yet and being worth a listen, Deerhunter already have 3 albums but I'm gona say them anyway.
although they too have 3.
it's official. I am an idiot. My brain has shut down clearly.
Yes they have 3 albums, but i can see them going strength to strength.
In fact if he didn't make a second album it wouldn't be too surprising.
he do well to call it a day and leave behind one classic album
But they seem like they're building up to For Emma, slightly undecided style. I mean I don't think he'll churn out many records that sound like For Emma, and probably not under the same name.
i am a bit confused about his previous output
But I think they might've been released just as Justin Vernon and I've tagged them as Bon Iver on iTunes, can't actually remember. Found them on indietorrents. They're not really worth a listen, imo.
they are at a sustainable level and clearly they have a frontman with a passion for music, they've also shown development in their sound and their second album didn't bomb.
most of the bands though are probably ones who are pretty obscure now but break with their next album or so...
They've got a whole lot more stadium-filling dross left in them.
joanna newsom maybe? that would be nice.
Less than two albums and will last the long haul? Actually finding that difficult to call. Ones that sprung to mind I don't think will last:
Arcade fire - too many band members, bound to implode
Frank Turner - Probably never break out of his anti-folk and won't last without change
Battles - too many previous bands, more of a supergroup, hardly stable!
i think bon Iver is a good bet. But, my vote goes to The Raconteurs (assuming the White Stripes don't count). Don't know why, I think theyll do a fair few albums. I expect the White Stripes will do one more album max.
Or, how about LCD Soundsystem? Technically only 2 studio albums?
seeing as it is basically just one talented guy doing stuff and making music i reckon he will continue releasing stuff under that name for a while
I want a new album dammit!
She's played two or three new songs live, no idea when an album is expected though.
The Field Music family (I guess that's at four though) making music for awhile.
Definitely Arctic Monkeys and someone like Laura Marling or Bat For Lashes keep going.
i really do hope they carry on but if they don't get any recognition outside of those like us I doubt they'll be around forever.
Next album will decide that I reckon, new songs are sounding really good live.
