and i am not enjoying
her vocals are winding me up to no end :|
everyone on the internet with a music taste seems to like them as well, whereas everyone who hates them seem to have a really bad music taste.
i really want to like this but i don't get it :(
hu ahu ahu a woooooooooooo
i don't get the appeal of her vocals. or the whole thing.
it just sounds like a woman with a thick accent talking jibberish over dull music. cringy.
am i missing something?
Probably won't help though. If you don't like them, you don't like them. Don't beat yourself up over it.
I always smile when the guitars start when Sue Tompkins is in mid sentance in her intro - can't remember which song that is though
So much energy. I never really got the point of live albums before, but Life Without Buildings made me see it.
I love the live album, how nervous Sue is, it totally makes the whole gig.
Happy I got to see them a couple of times.
Imagine how much better they would be if they had done, like, at least one other proper album. That would be brilliant
Did any of them ever form other bands worth checking out?
make me happy and giddy
in a whole whirl of YES!
But 'Is, Is and the IRS' should have been on the album..That still grates on me ten years later!
i only really listen to 'the leanover' though.
i kinda like that there's just the one real album, though. it's such a perfect collection of songs with such a perfect mood that feels like a real one-off thing. they almost seem like a band that was only ever supposed to make one album
one of my favourite albums ever.
her banter during the live album is horrific though.
to indie-rock perfection as you can find, I still remember hearing it on John Peel and being blown away, and it still makes me feel the same way every time i hear it.
