In order of preference, naturally.
White Pony > Around the Fur > Adrenaline > Saturday Night Wrist > Deftones
'White pony' is probably my 2nd most listened to album, closely behind 'Vertigo of Bliss'. Its an album I always come back to, and pretty sure I always will. 'Passenger', 'knife party' and 'Korea' are personal fav's.
'Around the fur' is about 80% / 20% hit/miss for me. Some incredibley cool tracks here, heavy as fuck, with undoubtedly one of the best album openers here. In fact most of their albums have amazing openers. 'My own summer', 'lotion' and 'Be Quiet and Drive' win for me. It's possibly my favourite album to drive to.
'Adrenaline' is pretty ace but it feels like the band aren't quite there just yet, if that makes sense? Some incredible ideas and breakdowns and such.
'Saturday Night Wrist' starts off quite promising, when I first heard 'hole in the earth' off their myspace I thought they were back to their best, but the album trails off a little. 'rats! rats! rats!' is super though, nice to hear chino with a bit of energy again.
'Deftones' was a massive miss for me, apart from the opener which I still listen to regularly. The lead single off the album, which I forget the name to, was quite good too.
So yeah, I still would rank them as one of my fav's of all time, despite how on and off they are. This applies to the live performance too, I wasnt too amazed when I saw them on the 'satuday night wrist' tour.
Big long rambling thread, but I'm bored at work, feel free to contribute. Apologies if this thread has been done before. :)
