whos going? 24 tickets left
Not seen them before, looking forward to it.
look out for kevin barnes emerging from a coffin filled with shaving foam.. the show is going to be insane.
I can't wait for this!
What are the support like?
i saw them play at ByLarm last year in Oslo, and they were the best thing there by quite a way, fun youthful electro pop mostly sung in norwegian if my memory serves me correctly.
...I'm gonna get no work done for it.
that was god eh? i wasn't expecting the venue to be so small. great night!
Although I hated everyone in the crowd. Especially the guy with the HUGE afro in front of me. I wasn't too keen on the Nirvana cover either, just seemed a bit obvious and kind of a shame that it was that song that most people went crazy for.
Bit surprised at how well they have managed to turn Skeletal Lamping into a live show. I am now officially in love with Kevin Barnes forever more.
you know Paul son't you? i was talking to him just before OM came on as he knows my friend Laura, he pointed you out and I knew I recongnised you from somewhere. So, er, hello!
He's sort of seeing my friend Greg. Confusing times! Quick scan of your Myspaz confirms that I did indeed see you. Hello!
I should be doing work but I can't concentrate for Wraith Pinned To The Mist And Other Games going round and round in my head.
I didn't think much of Casio Kids, mind. I liked their short sweet pop songs, which were expertly written. The jammy strungout stuff though was nothing that hasn't been done better by other bands (Rapture, !!!, Stereolab, Holy Fuck).
Of Montreal were brilliant. I had only heard 'Hissing Fauna...' before, but I'll definately have to go get their newest album (albums?) Their stage show could've done with a little less Am Dram, mind, imho.
(and the Icons, Abstract Thee EP but nothing was played off that).
In fact I think the whole set bar two songs and the covers was from Hissing Fauna or Skeletal Lamping. I liked the way they played Sink The Seine, Cato As A Pun and Heimdalsgate in the order of the album.
they played in the encore between Suffer For Fashion and the Nirvans cover. Was that a cover too? It seemed pretty rockin' for old Of Montreal.
They're a very proficient covers band, of Montreal. It was just an amazing night all round - they seem to get better every time I see them.
