I don't think I've ever encountered a great Nu-Metal band, has anyone else?
a good one.
And it's actually brilliant. David Draiman actually sounds like Peter Gabriel, slightly miffed that he didn't get to sing it in the first place.
They predated nu-metal by about 5 years.
to find one that isn't really Synthetic, but it's worth it In The End. Some see nu-metal as a Last Resort, but it doesn't have to be all Black And White, y'know? Take A Look Around and you might find one that makes you feel Alive.
I wanted to see how many I could get :(
Best nu-metal album evar
..ironic, we know it's shit sense?
I genuinely still like some of it.
most people seem to think it's all crap, but still like it. No-one ever talks about why they like it either.
Proper dogshit now though unfortunately.
Although what was it with nu-metal bands covering 80s classics?
There's a confession for you. x
deftones is they count, system of a down (sometimes), spineshank, some POD, slipknot, korn.......
It reminded me of second year and when the girl I fancied put on the album during English and everyone wanted to hear Smooth Criminal, but I was like "Movies or GTFO" and the chick was like "<3 that song". We later made out. Good win - thanks Alien Ant Farm!
of a more interesting earlier scene (dominated by Faith No More), much like modern emo is a horrible facsimile of the stuff Fugazi, Elliott, Jimmy Eat World etc were doing years back.
It was the first genre I found myself properly involved in, so for that reason I still love it now. Most of the aforementioned bands. Love Spineshank, Ill Nino, Korn, Slipknot, Papa Roach, POD, Incubus, Linkin Park etc.
I kinda miss the era of nu metal, things were so simply, bad people liked bad music, nowadays I suspect often bad people like good music
Around the Fur
Bad people like bad music?...yikes!
There's always, ALWAYS something of merit in any given genre. That bands like Deftones and System of a Down can be considered Nu-metal is a saving grace in particular.
Faith No More, no. Instigators, certainly, but not part of it or to blame, really. That said, they started a joke...
came out in 1994
they were nu-metal fucking aaaaaaaaaaaaages before anyone else.
i'd say so anyway.
