It's a bit good innit?
The tracks with Flow Dan are INTENSE.
jungle techno could well be another name for dubstep though yeah if they met in the middle in tempo and space.
I always liked slower stuff
Worst description ever?
With a very impressive set of MCs over the top. I had a quick listen to some of it a while ago and didn't enjoy it too much since I tend to prefer the instrumental dubstep. Usually any MCing that isn't perfect just ruins a good track, but I'm actually really impressed by this. It really goes well with the claustrophobic production.
Skeng is my favourite, I wasn't much of a fan of Flow Dan before I heard this as he always seems to use the same bars and same style but it works really well here. Ricky Robbinsons soulful / dark vibe is really good as well. I just love Spaceape on pretty much everything I've heard him on. I'm only keen on some of Warrior Queens bits, Posion Dart is good but the rest fail a bit. Overall It's pretty damn good and nice to hear some vocalists on a dubstep album.
And I wasn't that impressed by her first one on there but Poison Dart is good. I reckon Jah War might be my favourite. Not sure how much I'd enjoy a whole album of Flow Dan stuff but he's impeccable on here.
and it really abuses Flow Dan as him and Trim had a bit of a falling out. Trim mentions that he will probibly have a few more mixtapes and an album out well before Flow Dan even drops his first so I wouldn't worry ya self about getting your hands on a Flow Dan album he has been around forever and never made one.
I'm pretty sure he has made one for vol.1 & 2 though abusing flow dan though hehehe
Flowdan's been about for time and never got round to releasing a solo mixtape. Plenty of recorded stuff out there though, he's an integral part of Roll Deep and he always merks on features.
Hopefully the Cemeteray Warriors (His crew with Riko, Killa P & God's Gift) will get round to releasing something because there tracks on Killa P's mixtape are great.
well when Roll Deep are good he is too.
I love that track I do like Flow Dan as well though esspecialy after hearing this and some radio stuff.
Cemeteray Warriors sounds wicked that is a nice crew.
I'm not that well versed in grime I've only really picked it back up again this last year after not really following it to closly for ages. So it was nice to see a breakdown of Trims lyrics its kinda rare you get that kind of thing in grime.
Cheers for that jimi, will take a look. I like Martin Clark's writing, the column he does for Pitchfork tends to be pretty great.
knock off angry and its an amazing album. i hate to think how many people downloaded it, heard that first track and deleted the rest of the album, its so goddamn bad. mostly because its a bit too evocative of the macarena.. the tracks with flowdan are the best think. just an amazing selection of mcs straight up.
As much as I do like Angry I can see the Macarena comparisons, but the rhythms is very typical of ragga/dancehall. It's a shame Tippa Irie isn't on any other tracks on the album.
but the IIIIII GOTTTAAA SAYYYY kinda reminds me of HEYYYYY MACARENA too haha
unfortunately not gonna be able to get to BSS since all the dates are miles and miles away from bristol. which is a real shame, hopefully i can catch them sometime later this year though
Didn't manage to get down there though.
Are they playing in London in Feb?
Feb 12th at The Scala. It's gonna be amazing, I hope Kano and/or M.I.A make an appearance...
Might have to make it down there, Black Diamond is immense. I'd like to see MIA but I actually reckon Kano's guesting is pretty weak compared to the actual BSS MCs. I like the novelty of aggressive rapping in Portuguese I guess...
Unlike Puto Prata, The Conductor and the woman (don't know her name). Good track otherwise. I hope they play Aqui Para Voces :D
it was with brodinski as well, oh MAN. was severely gutted
not really my kind of thing, although I do like some of it
the more you listen to it the better it sounds
