i feel like i should have an opinion on this
good man, great writer. i'm listening to a lot of SJ this weekend, by the looks of it.
glad i got to see them. but sad there will be no more.
i think this might be the greatest band.
When I saw him in London before that he seemed a bit unhinged, but still fantastic. Good luck to him in his new stuff, hopefully some more writing/poetry soon.
great band, and another on the list of bands I never got to see.
they never came to Holland when I lived there, and now they will never come to the UK whilst I'm here. Can't say I'm surprised, but still, it's upsetting- they're one of my favourite bands ever. American Water is a true classic.
and LM, LS I probably should have just given it a 7/10 for the DiS review...but now I'm glad I gave it an 8/10.
Starlite Walker. I fucking love this record!
I absolutely loved this band, 'Advice To The Graduate' is one of my favourite songs. A real shame...
this adds some weight to the fact we're showing Silver Jew: The Movie at Bardens next month i guess...
the 'fuck' part was me being sad about this though
Superb band. Sorely missed.
The Silver Jews made a man out of me.
when the first kid said, Punk's not dead!"
Never saw them and still haven't bought the last two albums but American Water is easily in my top ten records of all time. Starlite Walker is also beautiful, especially Advice to the Graduate.
I'll drink a beer to you, Mr Berman.
it certainly sounds it in places.
he'll continue to write in some form which is good to hear. i'm just glad this hasn't come about from his death, which it looked like it could've a little while ago.
