... and thought A Weekend in the City was good, but nearly as much as Silent Alarm. Should I bother with Intimacy?
Its worth a try, a lot of it sounds like theyre trying to find the middleground between the two albums, just merging every bit of trademark bloc party-ism.
Then theres some right shite on it too.
The rest, not so much. Production is a bit overbearing. But yes, buy it.
deserves all the bland, boring music the world can throw at him.
Silent Alarm is pretty good, I wouldn't say that I love it, but still..
Given how much I hate people making threats they've no intention of carrying out I'll gladly PM you the address.
How'd you get so tough!?
I'm not looking for a fight with anyone and haven't suggested any kind of violence at all. I'm merely expressing a willingness to faciliate Ozymandias in carrying out his suggestion.
Nope, there was a thread on here about how some newspaper (think it was guardian) called it the 'humourless drown in sound message board' or something.
I mean you can have the address and try to seduce me if you want but I doubt you'll go through with it.
"anyone who liked their first record deserves their next two records."
i liked silent alarm (despite some nagging flaws) and thought they were one of the only bands to have mainstream attention who could have genuinely produced something wonderful down the line.
It has eventually grown on me, except Biko and zephyrus which are just crap.
Your visits are getting shorter is a tune!
However, I thought that was really quite dull. I liked Helicopter a lot. A LOT and hence Silent Alarm for me was sort of half-good.
But you'll probably enjoy it as a Bloc Party fan. Just don't expect it to stand up to Silent Alarm levels of scrutiny. I think it's better than AWITC, though.
apart from the odd track
WITC is above average.
But still after several listens, my mind isnt made up with intimacy.
