It just doesn't get any better than 'Race for the Prize'. ARGH.
Flaming Lips RULE!
but the first version is 9 seconds longer. Am I missing something? Anyone know the answer?
to make them more radio friendly.
they really aren't identical, they're pretty different.
There are lot less strings on the second one and the sound is less... large (for want of a better word).
They're not massively different though when listening. Technically maybe but to untrained ears (ie mine) they're very similar.
i just figured iv'e seen the flaming lips 29 times.
cant wait for atp ny!!!
I thought I was bad for seeing Arcade Fire 16 times...but yes, can't wait to see Wayne Coyne again in New York!
Perfect I tells you.
Astonishing, I know.
was the only time I have *literally* burst into tears at a gig:
They'll have to kill us both.
I have Yoshimi, Soft Bulletin, Clouds, and Transmissions.
Yoshimi I love all the way through.
Soft Bulletin has Race For The Prize, which is obviously awesome, and then a bunch of songs I rate as "pretty good". And the supposed-bonus-track Buggin' (Remix), which IMHO outshades most of the actual album itself.
The others have one great song each (This Here Giraffe & She Don't Use Jelly).
I have seen them live for about 15 minutes, during which they opened with Race (brilliant), Wayne bounced around he crowd a bit in a giant ball (good fun), and they started up a Queen cover (I left to go see Kraftwerk).
I WANT to like them more, just tell me where I'm going wrong.
It was ace. But impractical for everyday listening, I fear...
Do you think they'd work?
