Hover over the orange line. I agree though, La Roux is fun. Lighten up and enjoy!
how dare she reference a decade, my face is steely.
But, I can see myself getting pretty bored of this whole "electro pop revival" thing that everyone seems to be falling over themselves to write about at the moment before long
The Guardian's review of Lady GaGa's album summed up my thoughts on her almost perfectly. Yeah, it's decent enough pop music. But it's not "out there", it's not "original". It's just reasonably catchy pop music. Let's all stop dressing this up as some kind of cultural shift. The few quotes I've read from her have largely been quite embarrassing
Although, it has to be said, a wave of this kind of thing is probably preferable to any more of Pigeon Detectives, Courteneers, The Enemy et al
All the City Rockers stuff n that..
don't tangle with the internet whatsyerface
fuck with the drownedinsound forum at your peril, whoeveritis!
that isn't humorless thats just common sence.
FEAR THE POWER I WIELD, INDUSTRY. I think I explained my position fully, but if it's the "ye gads, the eighties!" angle they want to take, so be it.
By the way, Guardian lurker, that's not a picture of Little Boots. Little Boots is blonde. And picturing Fear Of Flying rather than White Lies - same people, yes, but completely different image - is unrepresentative too.
Shows at least 100% of those bands in the Guardian article to be electro, eighties influenced drivel. So a la mode.
when theyre not making comments the average 12 year old could note (Franz has "laddy choruses" apparently) They seem to be well meaning (promoting AC and Hudson, albeit saying he should maybe just stick to production) but there does seem to be a horrible preference for 80's schtick just leftfield of radio 1.
Mind you, they could just be name-dropping hudson mo and ac.
