i want something to blow me away.
it needs to be easyish to get hold of and AMAZING.
i am out of inspiration.
Spencer Krug is a genius .
so easy to fall in love with. try and track down these records:
On the Enjoyment of Unpleasant Places
Hug the Coast
Rebuild the Pier
Chez Chef EP
with interesting stops and starts, twinkles, emotional lyrics
from glasgow. been together since '97 or '98 or something
there will be songs on their myspace from the new album, but it's by far their worst record, so don't judge them on those.
You heard Jesu? Crushingly heavy but incredibly celestial doom/metal (?) Really beautiful stuff, if you haven't heard them before then get yo' ass on Spotfy and check them out.
however it was lauren who posted this i think.
you forgot to log out again.
just dont be sending any raunchy pms (to boys)
Or Bonnie "Prince" Billy.
i have totally obsessed over in the last 2 years.
no other band come close for me.
Listen to 'Bleed'. It has vocals on it (normally their stuff is instrumental).
If it grips you, it's the greatest thing ever.
Oh and I'm looking at your last.fm, props on the Jonquil.
Go listen to At the Drive-In and let it catch you by the throat and shout, roar and scream in your face.
The Twilight Sad's Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters is spell-binding stuff.
God is an Astronaut might be a slight departure from the normal stuff you listen to, but yeah, they can also be really, really awe-inspiring.
what type of thing are you looking for? i don't know many good new bands, but i've been listening to the van pelt recently. and cows. listen to cows.
Wow remember when the same shit happened to me!
Porno would suit you well
hard to get hold of I really like Haunted Fucking, brillaint eerie pop songs cloaked in bird song and noise, www.myspace.com/hauntedfucking
They're an easy habit to get into, impossible to kick.
Slow building, haunting melodies, alternating with bouts of raging violin-led fury. They're incredible live too, by all accounts. Must see them before I die.
You like your post rock. Something you should be able to get well into, I reckon.
I'd say 'Whatever you love, you are'. It's just great, all the way through. 'She has no strings Apollo' is also definitely worth a go.
For a love that will outlast your trainers.
