"ATP may have failed by some considerable distance to meet their target for ticket sales but, when word spreads, they’ll surely struggle to meet demand next time around."
That's not very nice! Think you have a word missing there....
Is there?
Says: this time out there's not a full house, next time chances are demand will far outweigh ticket availability.
Or am I being very silly and missing something?
photos here btw

Bill Callahan looks like he's joined Dead Meadow
more like pearl jam
Wow.
Looks like an amazing location, but apparently it was freezing.
think it was quite windy, but sunny in the day
tis on a mountain after all
I'm also slowly getting through all the photos and putting them on flickr

Should have everything up over the w/e and then I'll write some proper blogs about it all.
It was an amazing w/e, possibly the best festival I've been. I flew down from Brisbane for it so I'm not sure if I'd agree that the location affected sales. Drive from the airport was less than 3 1/2 hrs and it was a very pleasant drive. Probably more to do with an OD of festivals and gigs in January and being just after Xmas/NY.
The location was beautiful, although it did get cold at night. Being of hardy English stock I did laugh in the faces of people wearing bit coats, hats and scarves in the late afternoon but wearing a t-shirt at midnight when it was about 1 degree possibly wasn't my smartest idea ever.
hey eddy
feel free to add your pics to our official group for the event:

no, you're right, it's me! sorry
I thought you said struggle to meet sales next time... I'll get my coat.
I reckon the choice of location was always going to hurt ticket sales
Mt Buller is 5-6 hours drive from the nearest capital city (Melbourne), so you're immediately putting off not only the huge number of potential festival-goers who live in Melbourne, but also a significant proportion of those from outside Vic who would consider flying to Melbs for something like ATP. Having to do a five hour drive on top of a flight from another capital city turns the whole thing into a bit more than just a weekender.
I'd definitely have gone if it were in my hometown, and any other year I probably would've done the Melbourne round trip. But screw trekking out to a ski-resort mid-summer...
I can understand that,
judging by the amount of miffling on here about a London>Somerset journey...
*4 hours
by camel, maybe
when you travel LASERBEAM it's three seconds.
It's 900,000 km?
That's pretty far.
Wow, the location looks amazing
I'd love to go to a festival in a ski resort. Didn't realise Passenger Of Shit played, that's pretty cool. Is Shitwank an artist as well as the name of a record label, anyone?
was at the Brisbane gig last night
really great to see Spiritualized, Rob Forster and Nick Cave, all were brilliant!!
the disappointing part was the Saints, their performance was billed as a DLB gig for "(I'm) Stranded" and they didn't play the song I'M STRANDED!! Or even Demolition Girl and a bunch of others... so disappointing
was there too
The sound for The Saints was appalling. Ed Kuepper's guitar sounded like it was being amplified through a pool of mud. I moved back to the sound desk thinking it might sound better there but it was no different. It was a real WTF performance, really disappointing. Would say that the NC&TBS's set was probably better than Mt Buller though. Spiritualized were really good again but just didn't play for long enough (45 mins). Wished they had played their own show in Brisbane as it's far too long between visits for a band to come and only play for that long.
