They're ace - they have a kind of Elephant 6 type production but sound like JAMC, but dronier. Good description.
they would maybe step up into 'ace' for me if the singer guy could get a bit closer to being in tune
the album is pretty samey, but they have a good sound so it works until towards the end
i really like the singer's voice-it swings it for me. possibly the first guitar music in ages which i've quite liked without expecting to.
they are playing next month! kind of exciting
I think that's what I like about it most, the atmosphere it creates. If you know what I mean. Guy still sounds out of tune though
i'm willing to believe that. Singing in tune is for squares
at Barden's too (26th Feb)
and to the windmill. seems a really small venue for them to be playing but should be great
The rest of the album doesn't really grab me though.
Very Lazy-era MBV meets early JAMC. 'SinKing' is one of the best things I've heard in ages, although the rest of the album is great too.
and the soft pack! Should be an ace gig!
black lips are my idea of musical hell
but i guess i can see where crystal lips fit in, as they are quite retro
Wet Paint & The Manhattan Love Suicides.
the MLS are one of the better JAMC ripoff bands doing the rounds these days.
talked me into buying the album and I'm not sure if I like it, nothing on it really grabs me
and will probably listen to it again this evening. it is, as you say, just like being under a warm blanket. a blanket of fug noise, or something.
i think they're great.
...a little too consistent. some songs seem to try to recapture the catchy pop of 'dazzled' and 'shattered shine'but don't really pull it off
Their album is not just ace, bit acesome!
It keeps climbing in my AOTY list as time goes by. Took number 10 spot after just a couple of listens, had hit number 5 by the time I had to formulate my list, but now sits at number 3...
