So I'll say I quite liked At War With the Mystics (not as good as Yoshimi or Soft Bulletin, but then not much is). Either way, would be nice to have a new album from them sometime definitely
I was pretty much at odds with the album till I caught their live show, and with the stage act and the sequencing of songs, everything subsequently fell into place in the Lips' current musical story telling trajectory. Sort of like Daft Punk's 'Human After All' really being an aid to fleshing out their live shows, only 'At War...' stands on its own far better.
I always like a new Flaming Lips album, I've still not got christmass on mars yet or the soundtrcak I'm slipping I've got bloody 13 of the others or what ever it is.
At this point people will comment with how crap they thought the last record was

anyone listened to the soundtrack for christmas on mars?
i really liked it - not much like their other stuff, but really haunted sounding.
Also the film is predictably weird and comforting at the same time
This is good news

'At War With the Mystics' made MUCH more sense live.
