I weren't that impressed.
Oddly I really like the name though.
i want new stuff though.
it just went a bit wierd.
Sweet Love for Planet Earth is one of my favourite songs
very good. Don't like the name either. Saw them live and I thought it was very disappointing. (Just my opinions like)
I've not seen them live, but I love the record.
Lot of people saying it's 'noise-lite' and 'not as good as black dice' but as a fan of all sorts of 'noise' from 'ambient' to 'extreme' I can say that I think they're tops, no matter what genre label you stick to them.
but it's still pretty cool that they're doing well and they have a couple of good tunes.
and think i was turned, its really good.
can someone explain what they see in them? I thought i might have been going at them with the wrong approach or something, but I can't understand why people like them. None of it goes anywhere! They seem to follow a set structure pretty rigidly too. In fact, rigid's a good word to describe them, they don't really do dynamics, pretty much everything sounds like a really good intro to a noise track then does nothing, just loops and loops and loops and there's a beat and loops and loops and there's some screams in the right channel and loops and loops and loops.. Ah I dunno, this is one of the few times I'm genuinely confused by their success. I mean with The Feeling or Battles or Animal Collective or Akon or The Kooks or whatever you can understand why they get as much attention as they do (generally for different reasons but still). But with fuck buttons..?
though i think i'd probably rate crystal castles above them, they've got two pretty decent songs.
