been listening to DandB radio online for a little while, like it. Any good comp. or album to start with?
that you can probably use as a jumping off point. i love noisia's one (fabriclive 40) but its pretty badly frontloaded with their own stuff (which rules, but besides the point). marcus intalex does a nice jazzy set (fabriclive 35) and i haven't got them yet but i'm sure andy c's and high contrast's are pretty decent (fabriclive 18 & 25 respectively) . ed rush & optical's wormhole is held up as being pretty seminal but their newer stuff is pretty great too.
... is amazing. Think I've heard the High Contrast one too but couldn't be 100% sure. Those = great starting points.
I guess I transitioned into D&B from Dubstep
i've found all my favourite dance stuff usually blurs the lines between genres a lil bit. like i'm digging the trend of putting filthy dubstep bass into drum n bass now like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRVKb2VJYiA. the noisia fabriclive's ace because it seamlessly mixes into electro out of dnb about halfway through. anything which highlights the common energy between genres is awesome in my book
by A Guy Called Gerald is a DnB classic and as good as anywhere to start...Also check out Timeless by Goldie and Logical Progression 01/Producer 01/Producer 05 by LTJ Bukem (the last two are collections). All awesome DnB records.
are usually dead good, this is a 3disc set and its only a tenner
album got a 9/10 on here. has a dubstep tune on there, too 'eastern jam'.
anything from tru playaz/ ganga kru (hype, zinc, pascal) would be a good jump-off for you, kinda dubsteppy. super sharp shooter especially or fabriclive 3 by dj hype.
zinc esspecialy I have quite a few of his bingo beats dark breakbeat garage kinda stuff that I dug out again recently after getting into dubstep.
I really don't have much of a clue about d'n'b I never really got into it. Metal Headz I keep meaning to grab some of there compilations.
It'll never be bettered
it all sounds the same
There hasn't been anything special for a while i reckon. A lot of the major d'n'b producers are moving towards dubstep. I blame it on pendulum personally...
I don't know too much myself but i'd check out breakage, TC and chase and status (their new album's meant to be really good).
is wicked I have only heard a couple of his d'n'b tunes and they are good but his dubstep productions are really special
