I sort of grew to like mercury for its wonkiness, but this is just... bizarre... and terrible.
mercury id say
this is every bloc party song merged into one surely? Kele doesn't mean anything any more, the only reason he even makes songs any more is so maybe, one day, a reviewer somewhere will legitimately compare them to radiohead
I like it, probably one of the best on the album. The video is odd though, I'll give you that.
can this guy write another vocal melody sometime? wearing pretty thin
or the guitarist and the drummer should do something without him. they're the talented ones.
an interesting video
Mercury wasn't boring as fuck so therefore, for all its faults, must rank as one of the better Bloc Party songs.
That being said One Month Off is balls. My least favorite track on the album...it's like a half assed throwback to their early sound.
The video is legit tho, i think.
And it is a good choice for a single. I think this or Halo would've had the most appeal.
And Bloc sounds nothing like Radiohead. I'm sick of the comparisons...
To claim BP sound like Radiohead is ignoring how large the chasm is between the two bands. I suspect BP would like to sound as innovative as Radiohead but its never gonna happen.
But I hear what your sayin about the "inovativness" of them, even if I personally disagree.
But yeah. On that first part about the comparisons, right on my dude..
I just think it'd be disrespectful to 'em to claim BP sound like 'em.
key changes should be banned.
they are the kings of the key change
I like the song, its one of my favourites off intimacy (although thats not saying much given my opinion of the album), but the part around 2:15 ish...how did no one in the room say hangon that bit was too like banquet. Theres so many different things that could happen and they choose something a lot like a main part of probably their most well known song.
They really re use the same guitar parts a lot, I mean all bands do to an extent but its something I notice a lot with bloc party more than others.
