BONUS FACT: an anagram of my name is Caring Nun.
The Clean and The Verlaines and then watch that documentary on Youtube.
i sometimes think that the clean were the greatest band in world history.
Baiter Space (freaking great)
Straight Jacket fits
David Kligour plus lots more stuff...(these bands fo really sound like each other at all...but are all connected)
there where many good bands on nun a few years back, it's strange how good it was - you'll enjoy learning about the bands...
as well...i forgot them. amazing band. really influential for Pavement
to see some love for the Tall Dwarfs. I've been listening to Crocodile off Stumpy repeatedly recently. Alec Bathgates solo stuff is just great.
Yes to everything you see above. Get Wammo by Bailerspace and Martin Phillips & The Chills Greatest Hits. Then Juvenilia by The Verlaines and The Clean - Compilation. David Kilgour's album Sugarmouth is one of the lushest best guitar albums ever. He was in The Clean. The Bats was the other offshoot. For some reason people see them as twee. I think they're wrong. They were awesome. Not twee.
Still play it now, an amazing compilation and most definately the best place to start
I only have Unknown Country which is amazing and brilliant. I dunno much about FN, criminally, but I can heartily recommend The Dead C.
you found it! Someone sent me a Chris Knox song 'The Room Is Going Round In Circles'. It's weird. He actually sounds like he is well dizzy.
New Zealand is actually the only place in the world I can move to and do my job without any extra qualifications bushi. I like the music but I dunno if the rest of the country is any good
I have some of it, but finding the time to listen to it is mad. I've stuck to the anthologies he made himself and The Dead C stuff for now. Plus Exploding Budgies, cause I liked their name.
the climate, quality of life, the food, everything about it is better than it is in the uk. imho.
