his solo work in not appreciated enough. I've decided after listening to Stereo last night.
He's one of my all-time favorite song-writers. Stereo is an incredible album and I really like Folker as well. His latest one...49:00....not sure yet, but at 49 cents you can't really complain.
Have you seen the documentary about him, 'Come Feel Me Tremble'? Kind of sad, but awesome at the same time.
I didn't know it existed!
Normally it's quite hard to get hold of, but there seems to be some cheap-ish copies going on Amazon marketplace at the moment.
is great.Got to see the Replacements in 1991. Hope to see Westerberg some day. Doesn't tour over this way much. (Ireland that is).
But straight down the line pop-rock isn't going to get you much critical respect so hardly anyone knows he's still around.
If I was to get one album, which do y'all recommend?
Make sure you get the double, because it's usually the same price...I think they also sell the 'Stereo' and 'Mono' albums separately. 'Mono' is by his alter-ego Grandpaboy though, so it's a bit on the "rockier" side
... Suicaine Gratification or Come Feel Me Tremble are his best solo efferts. Stereo/Mono is good too. He also has a "Best Of" called "Besterberg". Not a bad place to start but I would recommend getting the albums. Don't forget to try some Replacements also.
really good. Also check out his Grandpaboy stuff too, raw bluesy kind of thing
