and the use of a vocoder on the last, and most of the songs seem lacking the albums magic. Having said that the best song he played tonight was from it, it had a surprisingly amazing guitar solo, think its the title track, might give it another listen
it definitely lacks the instantaneous awe-inspiring feeling that For Emma left me with, but it is good. the autotuner on the last track is fucking weird, but on my second listen its growing on me. its worth getting for sure. i hope the new album is better than the EP though
T-Pain is producing the new album so...
So, went to see Bon Iver in Victoria last night; very awesome it was too.
They played Blood Bank. "Wow," thinks me, "this is some out-and-out, four to the floor, big drums goodness." It even had a Malkmus-esq solo.
Get the vinyl home, slip it on the turn table, drop the needle and then...NO DRUMS! Wagwaan with that?
Also, "Babys". Surely that's Babies or Baby's.
All that aside, top EP I reckon.
when they played that i was spazzing out in my chair it was so sick and heavy.
still pretty good ep, though like everyone has said it doesn't touch for emma
I thought the big drum one sounded like snow patrol... but otherwise, I liked the new tracks, for me, the baby one was on the same level as some of the tracks on for emma
When they were playing it I was thinking that it tread dangerously near "best song Coldplay couldn't write" territory.
