I can't get over the staggering beauty of this simplicity.
Its divine music.
and i was just wandering what to go for next, thanks.
or secret note kind of link?
whatever you like.
so lovely :)
I got a credit from itunes a defective track on the Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly album, and used it to buy this (I had heard it before on Classic FM, but did not own it).
Divine music for zero outlay, result much satisfaction.
I put it in the same category as Sir John Tavener's Song of Athene and Elizabeth Full of Grace. Sublime!
Check out Max Richter's first 2 songs on Memory House. Achingly beautiful.
Any other suggestions?
but not "The Blue Notebooks", I'll recommend that. Y'know, just in case. If you only want to hear one song off it (for some obscure reason); Shadow Journal is flawless.
Other suggestions include Arvo Pärt's "Tabula Rasa" and Jóhann Jóhannsson's newie ("Fordlândia"). And maybe Esmerine's brilliant "If Only A Sweet Surrender To The Nights To Come To Be True" if you want to go just a *little* more post-rock...
The electronics didn't quite work for me. But i'm interested to hear his postcards album though.
is full of wise words
its been an agreeable thread all round as i've got some further litening and some people have found out about him. sucess.
the speigel sentiments.
I forgot to mention World's End Girlfriend in my suggestions! That will never do. So now he is mentioned.
Obviously a bit different to Arvo - not as minimal; and with electronics, samples, and beats all in varying quantities - but still beautiful. Get The Lie Lay Land (my favourite), or Hurtbreak Wonderland (the last one). And some headphones.
