Best band ever?
How they managed to get those tracks down is a mystery. Absolutely loving 'All We Need Is a Little Energon...' at the moment, especially the middle section = so, so good.
over from america got loads of donations from fans so I assume he's proper pro at mathy stuff
I was drunk and bought a t-shirt off them at the big scary monsters xmas gig. Great times.
I want a tshirt and I never got to see them live, I think my friends got me one for christmas though; sweet deal
I saw them 3 times, i think, got 2 t-shirts in the process and also made a donation.
Dude is a fucking dude.
I've ordered the album (and tshirt deal!), only heard the myspace tracks so far, awesome stuff, especially 'Right this way...' Gutted I missed out on seeing them live, I can't believe they passed me by for so long.
I always felt that their best was yet to come. Never mind.
Knives... was the best one.
took a while to sink in, but it's definitely a classic to these ears - I too am amazed it ever got made. How they wrote those songs I'll never know. I don't agree that the album has bad points really, although I'd have killed to hear them build on that sound with a follow up.
Variations should still be talked about in ten years.
their ep's one of my favourite eps ever, i remember seeing them for the first time before i knew anything, one of the tightest, most dynamic live bands i've ever seen.
but I'm always confused when people go on about how technical they were or say stuff like 'they don't even know what they're playing themselves' or 'how the fuck do you record that' or 'By Hercules! those guys shred math-tap-polyrhythms like nothing I've heard.'
To my untrained ears, they just sound like they're trying to be ATD-I and I'm sure there are way more technical and complex bands than them.
and it still hasn't arrived!
So Kev, if yr reading this, whats happening????!
