Bloc Party - Tulips (minotaur shock remix)
is pretty sweet.
dj khaled - im so hood remix w/big boi, luda et al
But I think it's terrible. Totally sucks all the life and energy from the track and is needlessly six minutes long.
There's zillions of amazing remixes (ya'know, outside the world of indie where it usually amounts to a shitty electro refix, yes i'm looking at you Erol) but a particular favourite of recent years is Carl Craig's remix of the Junior Boys. An enduring classic would be Basic Chanel's 'basic reshape' of the Climax by Paperclip People. What a tune.
van she remix of feist, 1234
Sebastien Tellier - Divine (Danger remix)
Daisy Daisy - Michelle Plays Pingpong (Vicarious Bliss remix)
as is the Mr Miyagi remix of Gravity's Rainbow
And Death Cab's version is good too.
remix of Bjork are you talking about? The Plaid remix of "All is Full of Love" is quite nice.
Jarvis Cocker's remix of Black Box Recorder's Facts of Life (awesome use of spoken word samples)
Freemason's housey mix of Beyonce and Shakira's Beautiful Liar was rubbish, but better than the paper-thin original.
and Urban Takeover's dnb reworking of Bhudda Monk feat ODB's 'Gots Like Come on Thru' (one for The Breezeblock heads...)
is stunning - verses from about 8 different rappers. Much better than the original.
i will have to check it out!
agreed, it's one of by favourite tunes and I fine BS too fucking twee.
Also that managed to make MSP 'Why so sad' likeable, proof you can polish a turd.
The Aeroplane version is miles better.
The more popular version of Sebastian Tellier's 'La Ritournelle' was a remix/redeit or something wasn't it? Sure it's different to the version on 'Politics'
by Dizzee Rascal is an absolute monster
all of your son's friends are cunts
erol's glam racket mix of franz ferdinand's do you want to.
andy weatherall's remix of I'm losing more than i'll ever have by primal scream ( you call it loaded)
a lot of things involving the words SOULWAX including their remix of their own entire album.
Depending on the club night, the trentmoller remix of the knife's "we share our mother's health"
would've been awesome if it had been finished.
Skip Divided remixed by Modeselektor ftw
by the Dust Brothers, wowee, what a tune.
Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve mix somehow improves on the amazing original
of Death From Above's Romantic Rights is fuckin bangin!
but the John Dahlbäck mix is better
having said that the Phones mixes of Sam Sparro's Black and Gold, NYPC's The Bomb, and Muse's Supermassive Black Hole are all better than the originals
remixed by boys noize
I've never actually heard the original but I'm sure the Soulwax remix is much better
of Can't get you out of my head and standing in the way of control.
Best remix ever. All the Avalanches remixes are better or close to being better than the originals actually. The Wolfmother Woman one especially:
anything by Soulwax
Monster Hospital by Metric
The Twelves Mix is good
The Futureheads - Decent Days and Nights (Phones Edit)
Justice - D.A.N.C.E. MSTRKRFT Remix
that remix of ...Boyfriend is epic. Massively superior to the original.
In fact, nominate Twelves as masters of the superior remix. Their mixes of the Virgins' Rich Girls and Kylie's Two Hearts are also miles better than the originals.
is the Ulrich Schnauss remix album of some of Long-View's stuff and is probably better than some of the originals.
Boards of Canada's remix of Beck's Broken Drum.
a pain that i'm used to [jacques lu cont remix]
familjen - hog luft [the field remix]
bonde do role - tabaco [a-trak mix]
golden boy - rippin kitten [ellen allien remix]
panthers - thank me with your hands [mstrkrft remix]
also the thin white duke version of mr brightside turns it into the kind of song the original wishes it was - i.e. the ultimate bitter school prom song.
I really really liked that weird out of nowhere hit "Everybody Come On — Mr Reds vs DJ Skribble feat Busta Rhymes" has to be better than the original.
Cornelius tends to remix em pretty good too right?
I don't think I've heard the original it just doen't get played anymore as this version is just so perfect.
it needs to be heard really if you haven't already
get name-dropped by Mary Anne Hobbs last week Jimi and it really tickled me.
yeah she has done it a few times now, pretty cool huh...
It's because I talk to much on dubstepforum's
by Nathan Fake is way better than the original.
probably the best remix i've ever heard.
actually really bloody good.
pisses on the original from a great height, and may actually be one of my top 5 Blur songs.
The Postal Service mix of "Mushaboom" by Feist is also incredible.
exact same sentiment as above, + suprised someone mentioned it before me. Bastard.
is miles better than the original.
easy, next question....
Work (Freemasons remix) by Kelly Rowland = Skill
Is better than the Rex The Dog
I don't like the Rex the Dog remix at all of Heartbeats
Kompakt Remix of (This Is) The Dream of Evan and Chan by Dntel is the right answer.
Is this next side project after NHG?
DJ Koze's remix of Minimal by Matias Aguyao
Ada's remix of Grand Canyon by Tracy Thorn
with Au Revoir Simone doing vocals is amazing.
I love Method Man and I'm not a massive Prodigy fan but this pisses all over the original
From the last DTTR comp. It's miles better than the original.
South Central remix.
The South Central remix of Metronomy's Trick or Treatz is a firm favourite remix but I wouldn't say it's better than the original (I know this isn't the question :P)
Cornelius' amazing take on 'Tender' just about improves on the already brilliant Blur original. Had this for years before I listened to it properly - but was worth the wait.
by Arab Strap is amazing.
My Bloody Valentine - Soon - Andrew Weatherall Mix
The Verve - Bitter Sweet Symphony - U.N.K.L.E Mix
Paul Weller - Wild Wood - Portishead Mix
David Homes - 69 Police - Cant remember who mixed it
MSP - If you tolerate this...(David Holmes mix)
Public Enemy - Shut 'Em Down (Pete Rock Remix) - best remix ever
MGMT - Kids (Soulwax remix)
