I'm looking for UK based experimental, noisy, psychedelic type bands that are amazing and I might have a chance of booking!
Something like Bo Ningen www.myspace.com/boningen or Breast www.myspace.com/breastbreastbreast
they certainly tick your experimental, noisy and psychedelic boxes. Mr Colour Ride is your man to speak to when it comes to this sort of thing
Volcano The Bear
Get anything working on myspace right now! The is shit... will check them out as soon as I can get it workin.... I'l ask Colour ride too! Ta!
They were amazing at Hokaben and certainly fit the experimental & noisy tag.
going by what i've put on/other ideas in varying degrees of noisiness:
astral social club
family battle snake
a middle sex
shit and shine
most of the stuff on that list is really stuff that's likely to draw huge amounts of people, i guess you'd say they should be support acts or whatever.
look at the hokaben line-up, good stuff there though i didn't go....
there's tons of good stuff around, that list is just from the top of my head so...
Friends of mine, would probably fit in to what you said you were looking for, very good band
check them out at
I didn't know he was still about.
so i assume he is....
at Testicle Hazard on Saturday?
what did you think of testicle hazard?
I liked their no-nonsense approach. I'm a big fan of Lasse Marhaug.
What'd you reckon?
but really like their sound. have you heard the marhaug/giffoni stuff? that's pretty great.
It's called Lesbian something, isn't it? I should check it out.
I can't remember their name, but I know Makoto Kawabata from Acid Mothers Temple has namechecked them before (most recently in The Wire magazine)...Les Rallizes Denudes! That's the one, they're awesome.
they've been going since the 70s
he played Catch recently and is looking for more gigs. Really good stuff.
You should get in touch with him, I live with him, I know that he wants to get out and play more. He played ZXZW a few months back as well.
if something appropriate comes up i'd definitely consider putting him on. cool.
Really loving his album lately. Experimental/Psych
I'l look through the bands now! Looks like I might have Drum Eyes down for the show which is really exciting!
Is in Catch in Shoreditch...
Just replying to Shige (Scotch Egg) now but he said he is tentatively up for it... then hope have Cementimental first up and some cool DJ's, coming along coming along!
tim's great, definitely book him!
any idea of a date? will definitely go.
Is the date for sure, hope all comes together! Do you know Bo Ningen? www.myspace.com/boningen I really like them are definitely playing
and no, haven't heard of them - will have a listen now.
is that Scotch Eggs full band thing? If so I am all over that.
i saw them supporting lightning bolt in brighton. great show overall.
I've seen Scotch Egg once before and it was pretty great. Will keep my eye out for this.
seen them a couple of times now, they were ace on both occasions
they don't seem to play much in london
Thread is going thought I'd give my Kill Me Tomorrow, Factory Floor & Mirror! Mirror! Gig on the 4th Dec a plug... Only a few quid and an amazing line-up. Only chance to see KMT on a headline slot in a little place here.
that's the show in mile end, right? i find it weird that an actual gig is happening in mile end.
Well half way between Bethnal Green and Mile End, is a really nice place. I live just down the road so go there quite a lot
it's only a 10 minute walk from me so i am tempted.
I'm about 10minutes the other way in Bethnal reen x
shame its on the same night as The Locust, but as I've seen them several times before I'll be going to this. Plus the Victoria is about 5 minutes from my flat, which is cool
www.myspace.com/chora - sort of like a mix of electronic noise, improvised acoustics and ambience.
Ambient, noisey business saw them in Windsor! Amazing step...so much so I brought the CD!
are not around as such right now, Joe is living in Java while Harry is in Bow. some other work in progress right now though.
Got so many bands to listen to! Good news is Cementinmental Confirmed for the 22nd : - )
Synth/Guitar/Kraut/Noise duo. Very awesome live.
noisy, experimental, noisy.
Scotch Egg + Band are now confirmed for Jan 22nd at Catch!
So that means the line is:
DJ's - Colour Ride, Far East Experimental Psychedelic and Screaming Tea Party!
Gonna be a mad party!
8-2 at Catch on Kingland Road
