more SMD than the Klaxons.
More Justice than Basshunter.
go chase up the new mr. oizo album-lambs anger.. it should sort you out rather nicely.
but if they could I would just play them some...
Herculese And The Love Affair
to be a bit obviouse then some dirty basslines
Drop The Lime
grab up We Never Sleep, hot stuff on that record. and keep an eye out for stuff he's done as Curses!, some great remixes
Starkey has that kind of vibe at times as well, but rawer and less 4x4 to the floor.
I would just play dance music to the drunk indie kids playin indie in clubs just doesnt work at all in my eyes.
lots of bangers; bruce willis is dead, gay dentists, erreur jean, positif. good record
i'm just going to liberally take "popular dance that drunk indie kids will love" to mean electro and recomend fake blood, herve/count of monte cristal, boys noize, shinichi osawa, disco villains, bloody beetroots, sebastiAn. all of them have remixed something "indie" at some point, so you can get away with that, though as a general rule electro which isn't based on indie songs is a lot better.
all of you.
jump around, you'll never have to play another song again
girl talk :)
Vitalic's La Rock 01
also worth checking out is the singles he did with zombie nation under ZZT. the worm and lower state of conscious. justice did a remix of the latter which might be more familiar to indie-minded people and bangs pretty hard
guitar shaped heart has been going down well.
the emporor machine?
tiga mind dimension
the panthers holy ghost(dfa mix)
why do I never see any mention of this band on these forums?
I thougt all the indie kids were hip to Modular records?
I'd have thought that it'd get more praise. The again, the fact that it's a monster is probably why it's been ignored.
In Flagranti - Business Accumen (*)
The Mae Shi
The Whip (**)
(*) in fact all the Kitsuné Tabloid Mixed By Digitalism
(**) I know this pushing it, but I heard them played at an indie event the other day; I of course love them
Was courtesy of the Holy Fuck t-shirt I was wearing! unfortunately it was early and only me and my 2 friends were dancing. But yeah, fun. 'Run to your grave' and ' I get (almost) everything I want' would be good stuff as well I reckon. If you move away from dance-y stuff, (which the mae-shi aren't!), maybe Los Campesinos!?
you would have to tie me down to sit still during that
Put you in your place
They've done awesome remixes for Sugababes, The Kills and Yelle. You can find most of their stuff on Hype Machine.
Late of the Pier
There's an excellent remix of 'Heartbeats' by The Knife on the Donkey Punch soundtrack which would be nice in da club...
