what a fucking tune, ladies and gentleman.
for your ears and eyes....
John Bonham's looking kinda hairy.
I've just finished watching The Rolling Stones - Rock and Roll Circus in which absolutely everyone is fucked in it... Marianne Faithful and Brian Jones, and Pete Townshend get a special mention in particular for being off it on something illicit. Very cool. Has anyone seen it?
Jagger looks amazing in it. Together and a complete showman.
Even John Lennon makes an appearance....
I'm having an evening of 60s and abit of a love in... speaking of which.........
I've got rocknroll circus. I like it.
Jethro Tull were the best
Apparently in the new Led Zeppelin book it goes on about how John Bonham chinned a woman and used to beat up random people on the street. Not cool
Or is that the Who bassist?
I think the ultimate prick of the 'big' rock bands of the late 60s is Pete Townshend. I heard some stuff about what he was like when punk came about, and it made me feel sick.
Then started calling it some sort of apocalypse for rock n roll, and saying to band members things like "Our time is over. The world is yours.". He had like a mid-life crisis at the turn of the decade.
the review of the LZ book said that rock stars in the 70s could get away with anything that wasn't homicide. That may be overstating it a bit.
according to the biogs I've read.
Rock And Roll Circus is brilliant.
Cocksucker Blues, the other live tour is on next. Vancouver, 1972.
not led zep
and yes they are the best
I didn't notice it was Iommi! I was too busy watching the weird man pull faces and stand on one leg when I were a lad. I just watched it on youtube and they are still the best
Anyone who writes off Led Zep or Black Sabbath as boring classic rock will be first against the wall when my revolution comes.
but he is right.
one of my favourite Led Zep songs
black mountain side.
i love it
